(Rembrandt Oil / Poppy Oil Mixing Medium) + One Super Tiny Brush!
“The sacred island of Mokuʻula was located in the 17 acre pond
Mokuhinia in Lahaina, Maui. It is one of the most important cultural sites in all of Hawaiʻi. It is the piko of the Hawaiian world serving as the spiritual, economic, and political center across eras. What traveled through time is the breadfruit trees and the memories it gathered from generations.
There isn’t a fire to ever hinder a genealogical line that continues to travel. When water is restored to where it once was, a balance in relationships between plants, animals, place, and people will thrive.”
— Rachael Ray Au Hoon
This original oil on canvas is 30” x 30” and took Rachael Ray nearly 16 months to create. Being such a sacred story that everyone who cares about Lahaina, Maui should know about, it took her time to recieve the right hōʻailona (spiritual signs) and lots of research in old Hawaiian Language newspapers, along with the book written about this archeological site.
The original painting is on view at Uʻi Gallery. It is the first time an original will be available for collectors to see in her gallery because for 13 years all of her originals were pre-sold commissions. This is truly a most masterful original that will be highly sought after. For this reason the fine art prints are now available as limited editions of 75 on canvas or metal from $325 - $1,795.
The ORIGINAL oil on canvas is $50K.
