All level cardio fitness class. Join us as we shimmy our way into a healthier us. If you are looking for a great no impact cardio program that will get your heart rate up and is easy on your joints then Shimmy to be Fit is for you. In this class we will cover safe dance posture and movements that will help strengthen every
part of our bodies! No previous dance experience is required. This class will not only allow you to work your body and help you in reaching your fitness goals it will help boost your confidence and self-esteem.

Mixed Level Belly Funkamentals (Tuesdays 7:00-8:30)
For both the beginner and intermediate level dancer, this class focuses on various belly dance drills to build stamina and helps focus on core strength and flexibility. This is more than an hour of fun! Come learn how to take both basic and intermediate moves and put it all together to create fun and fantastic choreographies!! Advanced Placement and Pre-registration is required.

Belly Dance Foundations :
(need 4 students to pre-register to schedule this class)
A seven (6) week belly basics course. Cost for this class is $60. This class is a technique oriented class that covers the core moves of middle eastern dance. Students will learn the various types of hip shimmy’s, arm movements, rib movements and basic traveling steps. This class will focus on isolation movements as well as short combination of movements. In this class the student will learn the various rhythms of this art form and the patterns associated with those rhythms. The student will also be introduced to various props used in middle eastern dance such as the zil’s (zagats – aka finger cymbals) and the veil.

Hip Belly Princesses (Mondays 4:00-5:00 pm)
This class is for elementary students 2nd grade through 5th grade with the focus on fun and sassy moves. If you are looking for something different and unique then Belly Fusion is the place for you. In this class your young ones will build confidence, self-esteem and a positive body image all while having a good time with their friends. Using both traditional music from the Middle East as well as music from around the world, including good old Rock and Roll, this class will get your heart pumping and your creative juices flowing!

Attire:
Be Comfy! No jeans, mini skirts, or street clothes; also no baggy T-shirts, or long skirts. Exercize/Yoga/Dance unitards, or leggings with a Tee or Tank or sports bra/top that can show lower back position, bare feet, socks or dance shoes. Also, a scarf or shawl to tie low around your hips is very useful for you to see hip movements in the mirror. (A limited number of scarves will be made available to borrow.) Session Length:
