Sharing for our friends at Theatre in the Rough
This is going to be an awesome show directed by the talented Donnie Gott! Consider going out for it.

Auditions are almost here! TR’s production of Lauren Gunderson’s THE REVOLUTIONISTS, directed by Donnie Gott, is a sharp, fast paced dark comedy set in the chaos of the French Revolution. Four women come together with wit, courage, and conviction as they take on art, activism, violence, and who gets to tell the story. A riot of feminism, resistance, and the messy work of changing the world. We’re seeking performers ready to bring humor, rebellion, and bold creative fire to the stage. Big roles. Big noise. Bring your fire!

Email [email protected] to sign up. Can’t make it in person? We can Zoom you in, or you can send a video submission.
You’ll read from the script (sides provided); prepared pieces welcome. Plus, a short a ca****la song of your choice.

Dates-
Auditions: May 27, 28, 29 Callbacks: May 30 at McPhetres Hall
Rehearsals: Aug 14–Sept 17

Rage. “Healing”. Misogyny.
“A furious satire for our regressive times. A (very) dark comedy examining rage, “healing”, and misogyny, it contains highly offensive language written to be
delivered, embodied and reclaimed by female performers. The tone is subversive, disturbing, and (hopefully) hilarious. This has been field tested.”
SPECIAL NOTES:
- This play is rated R. There will not be alcohol served in the Amalga Back Room, so we recommend 18+ for the audience
- The playwright, Hannah Kenah, will be joining us tonight and sticking around for a casual post-reading chat
