Dear Loyal Juneau Cabaret Followers,

After 10 wonderful, successful years, Juneau Cabaret will be taking a hiatus to reassess its place in the Juneau arts community. It’s been intensely gratifying to build an appreciation of the Great American Songbook, both with audiences and singers. Our Founders Laura Haywood and Tom Locher probably never imagined the scope, reach, and staying power of this program!

However, keeping concerts going requires an immense amount of effort and the consistent availability of artists (both singers and accompanists) to fill both open call and curated shows. More recently, it has become much harder to secure commitments and continue to produce the lively, engaging performances you have enjoyed. Rather than give you less than you deserve, it would be better to take some time, take a breath, and decide what is best for Juneau Cabaret. So, we will present the Holiday Extravaganza, but this will be the only scheduled event for the season. No plans for future seasons will be put forward at this time.

Thank you for joining us on a fabulous, ten-year trip down a musical memory lane, and we hope you always hold a special place in your heart for these classic songs, composers, and artists…

We really hate to do it, but we have cancelled our Open Call show scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd. We didn't get enough singer signups, and without you, there's no show! If you are interested in singing, signups for Holiday Extravaganza will be on www.juneaucabaret.net later this week.

Between now and then, come see the first of our special offerings for the 2019-2020 season, Autumn Almanac, at the Valley Public Library on October 20th at 6pm. Be on the lookout for more details in the coming days...

Thanks to our friends at the Empire! We had a great time yesterday and will repeat in the Valley this evening. Performers today will be Alyssa Fischer, Margeaux Ljungberg, Dorothy Kuterbach and Heather Mitchell, vocalists; Tom Locher, piano; Clay Good, drums; with narration by Laura Haywood. Mendenhall Public Library at 6 pm.
