🌊 This robe began with the Mother River.

The Shtax’héen is exactly that to our people — a river that has provided life for generations. Her waves still run in our blood.

Every design in this robe reflects that relationship: the movement of the river, the knowledge and strength carried by our ancestors, and a specific connection to my clan carried forward in a new way — sharing a piece of that spirit, history, and wealth with my children and the future children who will wear it.

This piece is about where we come from, what we carry, and what we pass forward. 🌊

My first Ravenstail weaving class is in the books! 🤩

I couldn’t be prouder of this group. Five days ago, most had never woven before, and today nearly everyone walked away with a completed Ravenstail bag front and the skills to keep weaving.

Gunalchéesh to each of you for trusting me to share this tradition. Watching new weavers discover their confidence has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had.

Some pieces carry stories that simply can’t fit into an Instagram caption. 🐸

When I created Xíxchʼ Díx̱ʼtu Sʼaaḵxʼí Gwéil (The Frog Backbone Bag), every color, pattern, and weaving decision had a purpose. While the finished weaving is what most people see, there is so much more woven into it than the final design.

I recently added a page to my website where I share the inspiration behind this piece—from the Ravenstail design itself to the incredible people who inspired its creation and why this bag means so much to me.
