A collaboration with amazing artist .lynn is now complete. Melted, shaped, and transformed out of glass, Ursula rises from the watery depths encircled by prisms of light and herring. Herring scales as well as the clear glass tentacles and body of Ursula reflect back the colors surrounding them. She will head over to to be added to the collaborative first Friday show, Water Ways. Hope to see you there.

That was really fun. I enjoyed moving all these pieces of paper around to get the final repeating pattern. And look how cute these little herring are. Ok! What’s next?

My friend Hollis had her new fabric enter stores last week! She and her new fabric line are incredible! Her works are amazing. And her patterns are flawless. So I’m playing with patterns this morning because she is inspirational.

Herring. This was my first painting using the wet on wet watercolor technique for my herring. And I love how it turned out. The colors are more muted but there is something so sweet about how the colors blended together in their own way. And it was fun to dab the colors on randomly to see how each fish would turn out. I think I’ll do this again. Now if only spring will show up. Trying to manifest over here.
