On the hunt for Yaklife boards. 🥺.
At lower levels the river conditions are perfect for wood hunting.
I’m always on the lookout for “hot messes”. That’s muddy, sandy, nasty debris piles full of everything under the sun. Logs, sticks,tires, trash, tvs , chairs….You name it.
This hot mess yielded, a yaklife board, rubber boot, vinyl siding, computer component, 2 tires & some pop cans

Chris’s (aka Kit) project today-make his first wood knife handle. Well you know we don’t get our wood from Lowes so to my driftwood pile we went.
A first, this piece didn’t look too special but what a surprise when we cut into it. Quickly realized from the color & aroma its cedar. 🤩
Can wait to see the finished product.

Raccoons are cute but mischievous critters. Get all the cuteness without the annoyance with Kit’s metal Racoons. They are 23.5” tall & are mounted to a plate with pre-drilled holes for easy mounting on decks, railings, or fencing or bury the plate in your landscaping. These guys are also powdered coated & will not rust outdoors. Grinding marks mimic their fur & reflect light beautifully. They sell for $100 but if you purchase both we will give a 15% discount through the end of July.

Our WV Yaklife’s were a hit at Yakfest. They sold out in 4 hrs & I had to take orders!
Everyone is mounted to a unique, one of a kind piece of wood that came from a wv river or lake that I & friends find. I’m so passionate about these pieces that I even organize the wood by river/lake. My husband also custom designed the wv yaklife logo. He cuts it out on his cnc table, welds the mounting screws & powder coats each piece in our shop (aka garage) in South Charleston. I find & clean the wood, decide the colors & apply the finishes, drill the holes, mount the logo & engrave River~To~Home on each one.
Thank you to everyone that has bought one & that supports clean rivers!

While out riding with friends & family in Kincheloe, Lewis County. I found a metal side leg from a antique singer sewing machine literally out in the middle of no where. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I hauled it home & my talented hubby repurposed it. Could be used as a plant stand, trivet or whatever. This will be available at our booth Saturday at Yakfest

Tip from our shop-An easy way to remove the black mill finish from steel is to soak it in vinegar a few days. It smells & looks gross but saves hours of grinding time & the vinegar can be reused.
