The Flower of Life: 19 overlapping and interconnected circles, belonging to Sacred Geometry which believes
that all life is part of a divine, geometric plan. The Flower of Life also represents the cycle of creation, and is full of mathematical properties. Leonardo da Vinci studied this sacred form, and drew various components in his artwork based on this harmonic property; such as the platonic solids, a sphere, a torus and many more as well as the Golden Ratio of Phi. Symbols that resemble the Flower of Life can be found in temples, churches, secular buildings, burial sites, art objects and manuscripts worldwide. In other words, its mesmerizing and very easy to go down a never ending rabbit hole with this subject. You know who to contact if you want one of these pieces for yourself 🙋🏼‍♀️✨

Back in late July, I was honored to be contacted by and asked if I would donate a painting to their Annual Benefit Gala! You guys... This is THE BEST dog rescue in the world, saving thousands of loving pups from high kill shelters and finding them forever homes, (and they have an impressive celebrity influence supporting them)! They are absolutely amazing. Since covid hit LA, I had not been back to volunteer with them for some time, and I’ve missed being around the energy of the loving staff and other volunteers - not to mention, how much I miss being close to all my happy, rescued pupper friends.

I decided to create a custom ocean themed piece that would bring them some extra $$$ they need, in order to provide the care these adorable furry friends require. This painting is original, mixed media on wood panel, and measures to 23.5” x 47.75”. I’ve included some natural water from our beautiful Pacific Ocean in this piece to flow into the art, as I do in many of my ocean themed paintings. My painting has just been added and is live as of today!

Empathy, by definition, extends beyond compassion, and means that you vicariously experience the thoughts and feelings of others. Being an empath is a blessing and a curse. You. Feel. Everything. You feel everything so deeply, quite often the pain of others becomes your own.
Some days are much harder than others, and on the harder days, I have quietly been falling apart emotionally during this pandemic, counting every precious life lost. Every single number represents a human being, who had a family, who was loved endlessly, who believed they had a future, who should have had a future, who suffered, who were uncertain, who cried alone, and who most likely died alone.
Sometimes I feel helpless, knowing there are so many suffering, and not being able to lend a hand. I’ve had to very cautiously hunker down at home since March, being high risk to and the best way to express myself and my feelings, is through art. It’s the only thing I can do right now. I wish I could do so much more. So here it is, my tribute in honor to those who have lost their lives, to those who have lost loved ones, and to those who have been fighting this virus and protecting others on the front line during this pandemic. “Twin Flame” has been a piece of mine that I’ve been working on for almost a year, on and off, and it’s a painting that will take me a while to complete for many reasons. It calls me to create at certain times, when the energy is just right. It’s hard to explain this feeling, but if you know about a Twin Flame relationship and have met yours, you get it: that push/pull effect, the frustration, the intense love, the passion, the uncertainty, the worry, the instantaneous bond, the highs, the lows, the timing, the changes and painful transformations, the epitome of yin and yang, the strong feeling that they are your home, the tug of war between the runner and the lover, the way they open you up and awaken you, and the mirror image of your soul and theirs combined that’s presented. Just like the Twin Flame connection, there’s a lot of emotion, chaos, and breaks in this piece, and I hope it creates a movement in you to open up your soul and create something beautiful from your wounds. ✨ • •
