50 YEARS OF VOLUNTEERS — 50 YEARS OF GRATITUDE ❤️
For 50 years, the Wallowa County Museum has been blessed with extraordinary volunteers.
It began in 1976 with the Board of the Wallowa County Museum: Grace Bartlett, Anne Hayes, George Dawson, Dorothy Wergen, A.L. Duckett, Irene Barklow, Thorsten Shell, and Ray Combes.
From those early days to today, hundreds of people have given their time, talents, knowledge, and hearts to this museum.
They have served on our boards, welcomed visitors as docents, worked the front desk, helped with exhibits and events, shared local history, cared for our collections, baked cookies, answered questions, and stepped in whenever something needed to be done.
Some volunteered for a season. Others stayed for years and years. Every one of them has been part of keeping Wallowa County's history alive.
After 50 years, “thank you” somehow doesn't seem big enough.
But from the bottom of our hearts — THANK YOU.
To every board member, every docent, every helper, and every volunteer who has walked through our doors and given a little piece of themselves to the Wallowa County Museum, this 50th anniversary belongs to you, too.
A very special shout-out to each and every one of you. ❤️
We simply could not have done it without you.
