My husband, Jonathan Aspensen Children's Books, has been pouring his heart into this, and today I finally get to share it with all of you!

The beginnings of a sketch at pier 1 in Mariner Point Park this Morning. It's been about ten years since I had the pleasure of plein air sketching in my favorite little park. If I finish this one I'll post the image.

Here's the new logo for the painting party portion of my art business. I considered creating a separate page for it, but I think I'll just keep it here on my fine art page.

I just created a new painting for my first painting kit, which I will be offering at the Susquehanna Symphony concert at Bel Air High School on Saturday night, May 2!

This is something new I'm doing. I have been doing painting parties sporadically for years, but I plan to step it up this summer and into the next school year.

This is my first new designing developed in a over a year. With the big cross-country move I had to take a break from this kind of thing. Now that I'm more settled in, I'm back on my path.

It occurred to me that I could help other people get started with painting by simply putting together painting kits that they can do on their own.

This is a 5"x7" canvas, and it took me about 90 minutes from beginning to end.

The painting kit includes everything you need to complete the painting:

~Paint brushes
~Pallette
~Paint
~Step-by-step printed instructions
~Link to a step-by-step demonstration of me doing the painting so you can follow along

The kit only costs $15.95, so it is very affordable.

Welcome Ceilon Aspensen to the Chesapeake Regional Authors & Artists Festival!
We are thrilled that Ceilon and her artwork will be joining us for CRAAFest on May 15th through the 17th in Bel Air, MD at APG Federal Credit Union Arena at Harford Community College.
This weekend long festival that showcases the region’s outstanding talent in art and writing kicks off on Friday night with a presentation from Graw Alley muralist Ezra Berger, a panel of regional authors, and a mystery performance by the Write Here Onstage improv group.

I'm happy and grateful to be able to announce that both Jonathan Aspensen Children's Books and I have been accepted as vendors at the 2026 CRAAFest (Chesapeake Regional Artists and Author's Festival).

You can find us on Saturday and Sunday, May 16 & 17 at the APG Federal Credit Union Arena at Harford Community College in Aberdeen, Maryland. We will be sharing a booth.

I will have new art, painting kits, note cards, crochet and knit items, and Jonathan will have at least two of his children's books available for sale (signed by the author on request).

By the way...I am the one in the dead center of that photo. Frau Kronmueller was my teacher and she and I have been corresponding for the last few years. She's still living in Munich and it was so fun to reconnect with her. 😊

I haven't taught online since the pandemic, but here we are again. Monday through Wednesday were official snow days this week. After that we shift to virtual instruction. I imagine that's a shift that occurred after the nearly one MONTH's worth of days we missed in February 2010 because of the "snowmageddon." We had to make up two weeks' worth of snow days that summer. With this system, we only have to make up three days over the summer.

This is me in my office/studio, doing virtual instruction.

Who knows if we'll be back in the building tomorrow. I seriously doubt it. Snow removal has been extremely difficult in Baltimore. Even Jonathan is off work out here in Harford county all week.
