The story that Mr. Joe is most known for, is his telling of "Abiyoyo" a children's book by Pete Seeger, adapted from a South African folk tale, about a giant who terrorizes a town until a boy with a ukulele and his father with a magic wand use their unique, previously annoying talents to save the day, turning outcasts into heroes.

This is a delightful story that keeps children enthralled until the final wave of the wand.

Thunder Cake by Patricia Polacco is a children's book about a young girl who is afraid of thunderstorms, but her grandmother helps her overcome her fear by baking a special "Thunder Cake" before the storm arrives. This wonderful story is a personal memory from Polacco's Russian-American heritage.

Mr. Joe really loves telling this story, because certain parts really gives children a safe step into an impending thunderstorm.

Lon Po Po is a Caldecott Medal-winning children's book by Ed Young, a retelling of the Chinese version of "Little Red Riding Hood" where three clever sisters outsmart a wolf disguised as their grandmother ("Po Po").

Mr. Joe loves telling this story to children. Sharing other cultures is important to him.

Mr. Joe
Mr. Joe began his entertainment journey over 50 years ago as a magician, and has carried his love for entertaining children to schools, camps, special events, and anywhere else a bunch of children might need some laughter in their lives. By doing so, he as entertained 1,000s of children over the years,

Mr. Joe blends storytelling and magic into a comedic show that will keep kids laughing long after it’s over. In addition to entertaining children, Mr. Joe was an Early Childhood Education teacher, as well as a workshop presenter.

After a lengthy hiatus to pursue other entertainment endeavors, Mr. Joe is back, and ready to entertain.
