Day One: Handsewn Felt Pennant Flags
Students will learn the basics of fibers arts such as cutting and piecing, stitching, and drafting a design. The finished product is a personalized pennant flag with their name or nickname on it.
Day Two: Shibori Dyed Bandanas
Students will learn about natural dyeing, and the Japanese art of shibori: shaped-resist dyeing. They’ll take home their own uniquely dyed cotton bandana!
Please note: their finished pieces will need time to process and be laundered, so they will be available on day three for pickup.
Day Two: Abstract Embroidery
Students will learn the art of embroidery through basic stitch forms and color theory. They will create their own abstract design using various thread colors and stitch patterns.
Day Three: Circular Weaving
Students will learn about the structure of weaving, how to warp a loom, and how to work in-the-round. Their finished piece will be a circular woven tapestry on a wooden embroidery hoop.
