The Jackson Theatre The Jackson Theatre is a fully restored theatre in the heart of historic downtown Jonesborough.

Serving as a vibrant hub for the arts, it now operates as a music venue, theater, and film house, bringing entertainment and culture to the community again. COMING SOON to Jonesborough, Tennessee, the Jackson Theatre will be a music venue, theatre and an independent film house, housing over 320 people.

Senator Lamar Alexander will be at The Jackson Theatre this Thursday, June 18, for an evening celebrating his new memoir, The Education of a Senator.

The evening begins with a reception at 5:30pm, followed by a conversation with Jonesborough Mayor Kelly Wolfe and former television journalist Josh Smith at 6pm. A book signing will follow the program.

The first 50 guests in attendance will receive a free copy of the book.

This event is free and open to the public.

Join The Jackson Theatre and the McKinney Center for Tales of Our 250th, a series of programs celebrating local history and America’s 250th birthday.

Featuring skits, historians, re-enactors, musicians, and scenes from the original play The First and Last Town in Tennessee, each evening weaves together a tapestry of Jonesborough stories and community history.

The series begins June 25 at 7pm with Historic Preservation in Jonesborough featuring Dr. William Kennedy and a performance by The Real Ozone Rangers.
