We’re excited to introduce our newest exhibition, more-than-human, now on view at Bradbury Art Museum!

more-than-human invites us to look beyond ourselves.

Bringing together art, science, Indigenous worldviews, and technology, the exhibition explores ways of seeing, sensing, and understanding the world that extend beyond human experience. Through immersive projections, sound, scent, data, and interactive media, the works reveal relationships that are often invisible to us, from the communication of forests and plants to microscopic ecosystems, atmospheric change, and the interconnected lives that surround us.

As you explore, we invite you to slow down and take in the exhibition at your own pace. Seating and exhibition catalogues are available throughout the gallery, and our tea station offers a warm cup to enjoy while spending time with the works.

And be on the lookout, several works throughout the exhibition are interactive and invite you to become part of the experience.
At its heart, more-than-human asks us to reconsider our place within these systems, not as separate from nature or at its center, but as participants in a much larger, interconnected world.

What might change when we slow down, pay attention, and begin to recognize the lives, perspectives, and relationships unfolding beyond our own?

Exhibiting artists: Ursula Biemann, Marko Cindric, Lindsey french, Dolleen Tisawii’ashii Manning + Mary Bunch, Suzanne Morrissette, François Quévillon, Rasa Smite & Raitis Smits, and Jane Tingley with Hrysovalanti Maheras and Ilze Briede [Kavi].

Archived brings works from the Bradbury Art Museum collection back to the galleries for the first time since 2024. Curated by Audrey Elk, the exhibition features a salon-style installation that fills the gallery walls with artwork to explore and discover.

Featured works highlight etchings, an intaglio printmaking technique traditionally made by carving into hard metals coated with an acid-resistant ground. After carving is completed, the plate goes into an acid bath where the acid corrodes the exposed metal previously carved, leaving behind a recessed groove. Ink is applied to these grooves where it can be run through a heavy-duty press to make a print.

Our Eye Spy for the current exhibition is now ready and waiting for you!

When you visit the museum, be sure to pick up an Eye Spy activity at the front desk and see if you can use the hints to find each detail within the artworks on display. It’s a fun way to explore the exhibition, take a closer look at the artwork, and engage with what’s on view. 🔎

If you’d like to participate, just let our front desk staff know! They’ll provide you with a clipboard to make it easier to complete your Eye Spy activity as you explore the galleries.

We can’t wait to see how many you can find!
