Knee Replacement Surgery
Day 17 (MON June 8th)

First out-patient PT appointment this evening. Not much fun. Haha. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Did okay with the exercises. But the massage and bending and stretching he did was pretty painful. Hoping some of that gets better when I get the staples out on Thursday. 🤞🏻 But…my bend is now 98°…so making progress! Iced and elevated afterwards. Pretty sore. 😕

Day to day life is getting better. Still trying to find a balance between “doing” and resting. It’s nice to get back to a little bit of a routine. 🥰

This has become my new obsession during recovery…Mahjong! Makes the hours on the CPM machine fly by! Have started working on some orders…but still icing, elevating, and resting! 🥰 Finding that balance! 😬

Knee Replacement Surgery
Day 15 (SAT June 6th)

And…just like that…I think I may have overdone it today. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Molly’s soccer game was this morning. Love watching that girl play. She was SO close to SO many goals! ⚽️ Home for an attempted nap (no luck)…then over to my brother’s house in Aurora. Just planned to hang out with my brothers and sisters in law by the pool. But after an almost hour drive there, sitting around for almost 5 hours, then the ride back…I’m pretty sore. 😕 Icing and elevating now before sleep. Hoping I don’t pay for it too much tomorrow. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Otherwise, felt pretty good today. 🥰

Knee Replacement Surgery
Day 14 (FRI June 5th)

Happy TWO WEEK Knee-versary to me! 🥰🤣 Today was my last in-home PT. I start out-patient Monday. Although I felt better today than I have the past two weeks, my bend went a bit backwards to 90°. Extension is still 0°…so I’ll take it. I’m trying not to get caught up on the numbers. 🤞🏻

Told him that I’ve been taking steps around the house unassisted. When I walked my laps around the house today, he had me lift up the cane and do a lap without. It felt good! And he said my gait looked good! That’s the good news I like to hear! So, around the house I can walk unassisted as tolerated, but he still encourages the cane when leaving the house. He also changed my bandage again. Incision still looks great. A lot of my swelling has gone down. Mainly only swelling on the inner part of the knee. The rest looks pretty good! 🥰

The real highlight of my day came when I visited my son for a bit today and my other son stopped by! I enjoyed lunch with all five of my grandbabies…and both of my sons! ❤️ I think this is the first day with no nap. I did try for a couple hours! Sleep eluded me…but at least I was still resting. Should sleep well tonight! 🤞🏻

Knee Replacement Surgery
Day 13 (THURS June 4th)

My two older granddaughters hung out with us this morning. Hard to call it babysitting…at 6 & 8yrs old…they pretty much took care of ME! lol. But after they left, I was exhausted! Took a couple naps this afternoon…not much else. 😴💤 I can tell my knee is getting stronger every day. Tomorrow is my last home PT appt. Then I’ll start outpatient PT on Monday. I currently have such a great PT…hoping the next one I get is equally good. 🤞🏻
