OPEN MIC: 8pm till 1am... every Wednesday Night!! Joliet Bakery Deli & Liquors aka The Drunken Donut! The non-performing public is heartily welcome as well.

Every Wednesday evening, The Joliet Bakery, Deli, & Liquors aka (The Drunken Donut) comes alive with fresh, homegrown performers from the Chicagoland area. Musicians, poets, comedians, artists, and performance artists of all levels of experience are invited to sign up and perform a 15min set of material. Electric Wednesday is a unique and fun open mic that has an overwhelming amount of character. Sign up sheet is posted at 8pm and live performances begin around 8:30pm. Stan, owner and bartender, can also be seen every Wednesday evening for a good chat while enjoying live entertainment. Electric Wednesday was inspired by Zak Alberico & Katie Dulny, and was hosted by them and others (Angie Morrison, Corey "Moondog" Myers, Cameron Little) for years! For the past several years Alex Ziech has been holding the fort after worshiping at the altar of local music and the Drunken Donut for over a decade and he couldn't be happier to carry the torch! This is a night to celebrate each others talents, build community, and celebrate diversity in every aspect of life! "We're here to inspire the environment. Projecting positive energy until the neighborhood is addicted to hope. Exposing every local hero" - Zak

Alex Ziech (A 2 da Z) here! It is with a very heavy heart that I announce my immediate departure from The Drunken Donut. It has been a fun and wild ride and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. However, I have other things in my life that I need to take care of - but I assure you that we have a very competent team of people transitioning the Donut and it will be glorious. Angie Morrison will be returning as the captain of the Donut (which was arguably some of the best years we had there). I just want to say thank you and I love you so much to all of the incredible musicians, artists, performance artists, and comedians throughout the years - it was an honor and I never ceased to be amazed by you all. All shows that have been booked will be honored and I suggest you email The Drunken Donut regarding shows as they’re trying to streamline booking. There will also be changes in the format for Electric Wednesday Open Mic and shows in general so please stay tuned for all of that information. I will miss you all and I hope you keep rocking in the free world. Again it was an honor and a privilege and I hope you keep supporting local music and art. Excelsior!
