Darrin Reese

Darrin was born to play bass. His ear hears the bottom when listening to a song and it was instrumental in him learning to play the bass. As a young boy of 9 he started playing acoustic guitar and transitioned to bass when he was 18. Another seasoned musician, Darrin is the other half of the rhythm section of Stoneycreek. His melodic bass riffs and smooth runs lay down the bottom for the band.
As a lover of Southern Rock, Classic Rock and Blues he is skilled with all styles of music. He was heavily influenced by Harry Mock Country Hi Hats , Something Country, and Allegheny. He gets most of his inspiration from Leon Wilkeson, Banner Thomas, Tommy Shannon, Bill Wymans and John Entwhistle.
Darrin has played with several bands during his musical career including: Rampage, Trez Hombrez, Nighttrain, Bitter Route, Split Image, JD Crew, Steve Mattis and the Mattis family band, Steve Mattis Jam band, and the Renegades. He also plays free lance filling in as needed with other local bands.
Darrin loves to play music. “ No pharmaceutical product can ever equal the rush you get whe the band hits their groove. People are dancing, shouting and swaying as the house rocks. That’s when you know they are digging the music”

Dan Slick

Dan grew in up Western Pennsylvania and cut his teeth playing the blues in the backstreets of Johnstown. The youngest son of a railroad engineer, Dan learned his life lessons in a blue collar environment. He started playing professionally in the clubs surrounding the “steel city” at the age of 14. His R&B influence came from playing on the road with soul show bands like “The Instigation” and “The Flood City Blues”. When he plays, you can here the Hammond B-3 influences of Stevie Winwood, Booker T, and Jimmy Smith all rolled into one.

Dan spent 32 years as a corporate leader in the music industry. He was the General Manager of Technics Musical Instruments for the United States and helped to influence the career of many young aspiring musicians.
As a recent member of the retro soul group “Shimmytang” and the tribute band “AM/FM Rewind”, both Jersey shore bands, he brings his years of musical production experience to the band. The funky sounds of the keyboard add to the raw energy created by the hard backbeat rhythm section. “I really love the complex sound produced when the band is rocking” “You can feel the room heat up when the audience hears the powerful backbeat and the great harmonies.” “Everyone is having a great time!”
