It’s been an absolutely insane year. From hosting our first ever band show, to performing at the Cavs Game, to marching around the world is Epcot, to qualifying for State Finals in Class B for the 3rd year in a row, to amazing final performances of the year.

This year was amazing and so much of it is thanks to the amazing community that supports us. Thank you for everything that you have given to make this program what it is. Thank you for sharing your students with me for these past 5 years. I don’t have enough words to express what it has meant to me. Can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds for Northridge!

And remember, once a Viking, always a Viking.

Do you have an old instrument sitting in a closet collecting dust? Your donation could give a student the opportunity to experience the life-changing impact of music education.

⏰ 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

🚗 Donors can conveniently drive around to the back of the high school (Door 11) and pull up directly to the open band room doors for easy drop-off!

Donated instruments will help support music programs and students across Ohio by providing access to instruments for young musicians who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.

Last week was an incredible week for the Northridge Band Program, filled with amazing performances, unforgettable moments, and so much to celebrate.
We started the week with an outstanding concert from our Middle School Bands and Choir. Our students put on an amazing performance and closed out their year in a way that truly showcased all of their hard work and growth throughout the year.

On Thursday, we held our High School Fine Arts Night. It was a special evening as we recognized our students, celebrated award winners, and welcomed many of our alumni back to perform alongside our current members. It was an emotional night in many ways, but more than anything, it was a beautiful reminder of the impact that music and this program can have on people long after they leave our band room.

We wrapped up the week at Middle School Large Group Contest with our 7th/8th Grade Band. The students gave an incredible performance and earned an EXCELLENT rating — the second-highest rating possible. We are unbelievably proud of the preparation, musicianship, and heart these students brought to the stage.

On top of all of that, we also want to recognize someone who made a tremendous impact on our program this semester.

Last Friday marked Mr. Miller’s final day with the Northridge Band Program. Over the past five years, we have been fortunate to work with several incredible student teachers who have gone on to become fantastic educators. However, Mr. Miller was our first-ever spring student teacher, and to say he exceeded every expectation would be a massive understatement.

The relationships he built with our students — especially within the 7th/8th Grade Band — were truly special to witness. His energy, positivity, musicianship, and genuine care for students made an immediate impact on our program, and it quickly became clear just how much he meant to so many of them.

We could not be prouder of the educator he is becoming, and we are incredibly excited to see where his journey takes him next.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this past week so special. We are incredibly lucky to have such amazing students, families, alumni, and supporters who continue to make the Northridge Band Program something truly special.

We have a WEEK full of concerts ahead of us! 🎶

We hope to see many of you tonight for the Middle School Fine Arts Night Concert!

Then on Thursday, you can catch the High School Fine Arts Night Concert, where we’ll be presenting our end-of-year awards and welcoming back more than 15 alumni to perform alongside our current band students!

Both concerts begin at 7:00 PM with Choir, but we encourage families to arrive early to check out the incredible artwork on display from our amazing Art Programs.

And if you still aren’t “concerted” out by then, you can support the 7th & 8th Grade Band at Middle School Large Group Contest on Friday! The event is hosted at Licking Valley High School, and our students perform at 8:55 PM.

One last crazy week of performances! Thank you all for the incredible support you’ve shown our students throughout the year. I’m excited for these final opportunities to perform for our amazing Northridge community 💚

The Northridge Concert Band put on an amazing performance this morning at OMEA State Large Group Contest! They received a rating of II, EXCELLENT! The break down of scores makes it the highest they have ever received in Class B at State Contest! We couldn’t be prouder of these kids 💚

Some very exciting news for Northridge Music!

After years of our students striving to achieve the highest level of musical excellence, Northridge has been recognized on the national level with NAMM Best Communities For Music Education.

This honor is awarded only to schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in music education from the very first years with Ms. Rodesh, all the way through our oldest students working with Mrs. Fraley and Mr. Healey.

This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, the passion of our staff, and the incredible support of our families and community. Music at Northridge is truly something special, and this achievement belongs to all of us.

We are so proud of what our students have accomplished and excited for what is still ahead.
