Joe and Maple (former Angel, Feta) stopped by today to drop off a donation! They recently hosted Squonkapalooza in Johnstown and not only invited us to have a table and bring some adoptables, but also donated part of their proceeds back to our Angels! They raised money and split between several amazing organizations and shared $365 with us. We are so very thankful for their hard work, their kindness and generosity, for inviting us, and for throwing one heck of a great day for the community! Check them out next year!🐽🥳

What do you guys think, should we do this all again in a year?? We had so much with the 80s that we thought let’s go 90’s. After all the 90s was our decade. The movies and music of the 90s shaped me into the dysfunctional adult I am now. This drawing while referencing a photo of PJ Harvey is also very me in the 90s. Green tights, combat boots, and a flannel shirt tied together almost any outfit. From ages 9-19 I hit a lot of milestones in the 90s. So I’m excited to celebrate Squonking in the 90’s. Applications will come out in January.

I met Naomi this weekend when she was hanging out at the show and she’s such a little sweetheart.

She’s now available for adoption. Let’s find this little girl a forever home.

🪻Naomi

Some dogs are tiny but can command the entire world. Naomi is one of those dogs.

Around 5 years old and weighing 23 pounds (though she’s working toward a healthier 18), Naomi is a mixed breed—possibly hints of Chihuahua, Pug, Bully, doxy…. But possibly none… we aren’t sure.

She is house and crate trained and knows “sit.” She walks nicely on leash… as long as your destination happens to match hers. Naomi firmly believes she has an excellent sense of direction, and she isn’t shy about sharing her opinion.

Naomi has done well with dogs of all sizes, but she’s definitely the self-appointed CEO of the canine committee. She likes things done her way and isn’t afraid to let everyone know it. She should always be fed separately, as she prefers to enjoy her meals without company and will chase them away with gusto. She has done well with children and absolutely adores people, even with food, she doesn’t mind sharing with hoomans.

Confident, independent, and delightfully stubborn, Naomi is equal parts sass and sweetheart. The moment you sit down, she’d like to remind you that your lap now belongs to her. If there’s room beside you, she’ll happily curl up there too, but she’d much rather be plastered directly against her favorite human.

When she’s feeling playful, Naomi loves chasing squeaky toys before proudly carrying them off to her crate, where she keeps her growing collection of treasured loot. She’s also quite the conversationalist. Whether she’s barking at another dog while wagging her tail at warp speed to establish herself as “the boss,” making adorable little piggy grunts, or snoring with the enthusiasm of a buzz saw, Naomi always has something to say. Her hilariously raspy bark sounds like she’s been smoking two packs a day for the last 20 years, and somehow it only makes her more lovable.

Mention the word “walk,” pick up a leash, or even think about going for a car ride, and Naomi is ready before you are. She loves short strolls, rides beautifully in the car, and firmly believes the front passenger seat was invented specifically for her. Baths are tolerated with dignity… but she’d appreciate if you kept them to a minimum.

As for learning new tricks? Naomi has a different philosophy. She’s convinced you’ve already seen enough to know she deserves the treat first, and any tricks afterward are entirely optional.

Naomi will be finished with all of her veterinary care as of August 13. If you’re looking for a pint-sized companion with a huge personality, endless opinions, a heart full of love, and enough charm to keep you laughing every day, Naomi is ready to run your household… lovingly, of course.

🚨If you are interested in making Naomi a part of your forever family, please go to our main fb page, and find the very first post that’s pinned and titled “All Things Information.” It will walk you through our entire process.

*all other companion animals in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines.

💛meet and greet pending💛

Another Squonkapalooza in the books! We did it. This is an actual photo of me at the end of the day! 🤣
80s Squonk was a blast. Thank you to everyone who came out. This year we brought some new things to always keep it fresh. So we really hope everyone enjoyed it. It is such a labor of love putting this event on. While I want to tag everyone who helped in this post I can’t possibly tag that many people so real quick… My cohost Cryptoteeology and I (Cryptid Comforts) put out blood sweat and tears into putting on this event. Every year we do our very best to ensure it’s the best it can be. Things don’t always go the way we imagine, but every year it grows and every year it just amazes me more how many people show up for us. And I’m not just talking about guest attendance. I’m talking about our friends who help out so much. Joe has a great local crew who work so much behind the scenes to help out. BOTTLE WORKS does such an incredible job setting up the space for us. We are so happy to have them as a partner in this. Our wonderful out of town friends who travel and help promote the event. I want to give a huge shout out to It's Just Kay. who ran my booth all day. We truly have such a great crew! Our speakers and entertainers all worked so hard too. We introduced a cosplay contest thanks to my awesome friend Erica Fett . Dylan's Drink & Draw drove 16 hours each way to come out and do Dylan’s drink and draw which was so fun. Even though Anthony was not able to make the trip in person he was still able to arrange our screening of Frogman for the after party. Everything was so amazing ing and it went mostly really smoothly. Nothing is ever going to go 100% smoothly but I’m rating this year 98% smooth, which is incredible. Also we got so much press coverage through the year leading up to the event! That means so much. Thank you everyone for showing up and being awesome!!
