Well John Day, here it is.. The first completed donation piece towards my newest passion project series where I donate 1 item every month to a newly nominated business where raffle tickets are given away with store purchases!

This month's nominated business is Java Jungle & Tropical Tan in John Day, OR.

From 2/1/26 until 2/28/26, every in store purchase of a food or drink item over $5 receives 1 free raffle ticket. Since I am not selling additional raffle tickets just by themselves, we are encouraging customers to buy gift certificates for the store if you'd like to have additional entries but do not want to take home a handful of coffees. Every $5 purchased towards a gift certificate will also earn you 1 raffle ticket. *Orders purchased with gift certificates do not qualify, I want to make sure a double dipping doesnt happen when gift certificates are purchased and then attempted to be utalized for the actual food or drink item*.
The drawing will be held within 24 hours after the store closes on the last day of the month, and the winner will be announced on My Passion Project's page so please be sure to go give the page a follow! If you'd like to nominate a business for next month's donation recipient, please write them down on a piece of paper and drop it in the same box as your raffle ticket. Please see the information and details on the provided pictures on this post or in person at Java Jungle!

Please be sure to tip your Barista and please be patient as this might overwhelm them with foot traffic.

Thank you all for your support in this venture, be sure to stop in and make them your destination Hotspot for all of February! There are no limits to how many times you can purchase items and receive tickets.

Next week when my supplies come in, I will be working on the first Passion Project piece that will be donated to Java Jungle & Tropical Tan at the end of this month to be displayed at the store beginning Feb 1st, 2026. During the entire month of February, every time you purchase a drink from Java Jungle, you will receive a free Raffle ticket entry for the raffle taking place at the last day of February.
February's dresser piece was graciously donated for the cause by a local here in John Day and my vision for this piece is to add industrial metal castors and paint it similarly to the *inspiration* photo on the right, which is a piece I did about 2 years ago.
Raffle tickets will not be able to be purchased seperately, this project is to help local businesses around town gain more customers, however Janet does provide Gift Certificates at her store so should you want more entries without having to take the drinks at that very moment, 1 ticket will be given per $5 on the gift certificate voucher as well.

Stay tuned for the videos of this dresser being refinished, and please continue to spread the word for our very first raffle starting February 1st.

Newest John Day friends,
I've decided to start a new passion project where I donate one piece of refinished furniture to a nominated small business every month in the John Day area and give the owner raffle tickets to hand out with every purchase within their store for the item to be raffle off at the end of the month. This is my way of helping small business owners with marketing and pushing locals to get out of their comfort zones and visit and support local businesses for a chance at winning the donated item. Being a small business owner is hard, nobody tells you about the 15 hats you wear on a day to day basis and marketing seems like its a full time job in itself. Marketing is complicated, and most business don't have the revenue to afford marketing agencies. This is my way of giving back to the community, one business at a time and hoping that the new page will bring in enough engagement that I can help to bring in customers to each business one month at a time. I managed to grow UNDEAD HARDWARE (My own hardware brand made by my primary company UNDEAD FURNITURE CO) into a 6 figure business my first full year in business by social media marketing alone. My dream for this project, is to not only show you all the fun behind the scenes content of the actual refinishing process, but to also interview each nominated store owner and share their stories and passions with the community through this page.
I hope that yall will join me on this venture and invite all of your friends that are local to grant county 💜

Our first nominated small business is Java Jungle & Tropical Tan which will have the raffled item starting Feb 1st! All raffles will be held at the end of each month, so stay tuned for content on this item being created this month and start thinking about which business you'd like to nominate for March's Raffle!
