A near and dear one to my heart said action creates motivation. I’ve been going through so much, I know many of us are feelin’ the aches and pains of small to big shifts. Without a doubt though what brings light into the dark spaces I get pushed into, is being a light to others.

🌧️ Event Postponed for Safety 🌧️ Due to the severe weather and flood advisories in our area, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone today’s She Shines on the Mic event.

The safety of our community always comes first — we want everyone to be able to arrive, shine, and celebrate without worry. 💛

It’s FAHM and this edition of She Shines On the Mic is proud to feature as an Artist Who Inspires for our fireside chat. 🇵🇭✨

Rossana’s passion for the arts is rooted in her love of color, dance, and culture. As an artist and a dancer, she is also known as “Ground Intellect.” It’s no surprise that many of her paintings depict a wide variety of colors and movement. More recently, she’s tapped into her knowledge of photography from her early studies at Cooper Union and delved into her cultural origins with assemblage art making.

Rossana earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Art Teacher Certification from New Jersey City University. she currently resides in Jersey City, where she has co-founded CUDA Culture (.culture) a non-profit organization that provides quality workshops in visual arts, break dancing, and creative crafts for inner city youth.

🌿🌎✨ It’s the hands and hearts that tend to Mother Earth who help us stay connected to the plants, the land and ancestral ways of healing and creating that sustain us.

Roxana Marroquin weaves herbalism and urban agriculture with narrative storytelling, mindfulness, creativity and cultural arts into a unique practice of environmental stewardship and community wellness. She created Agua De Jade Apothecary | as a personal project from which she creates herbal products, provides art therapy and has offered various workshops throughout her community.

Her work continues to guide and influence how others heal, express and connect — inspiring a new generation to lead with intention, creativity and care.
