Mana Contemporary Presents Mana Highlights:
Yoon Lee
“JFK”
On view in the Lobby of Mana Contemporary

October 2026 – January 2027

Yoon Lee
“JFK”
Acrylic on Sintra (PVC Panels)
84 x 240 inches

In Yoon Lee’s large-scale painting JFK she combines architectural and landscape elements with sweeping movement; she activates the space as if with a tangible fourth dimension. From a distance the painting appears as a spontaneous amalgamation of structure and motion; up close as abstraction. In JFK she incorporates the interior architecture of an air train station with motion within and through it. JFK came out of me wanting to do a work that goes from interior to
exterior, to have a bi-directional thing and not just one point of perspective.”

A sense of speed is central to the dynamic nature of her paintings. “Once I filter” references “through the digital interface I start focusing more on things like how fast is it going from here to there and how can I communicate that? Speed really came into my mind as a subject...when I introduced the digital interface into my process.” Lee has developed her own painting technique where she meticulously applies layer upon layer of acrylic paint—in varying degrees of opacity and translucency—using fine-tipped squeeze bottles by hand.

Yoon Lee was born in Busan, Korea. She studied at Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, received a BA from UC San Diego, and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.

Yoon Lee’s JFK is presented in partnership with PIEROGI Gallery. Full image courtesy of the Artist.

Congratulations to Moishe Mana on his vision to bring Wynwood to the next level. And to Ken Griffin for
carrying his vision into its next chapter.

Get Repost App • Moishe Mana The real story here is not the money .its about impact on miami s future .
I’m proud to pass the torch as Wynwood begins its next chapter.
When I first invested in Wynwood, I saw more than a neighborhood—I saw the opportunity to build a sustainable cultural district that could help redefine Miami. I made that commitment early, stood by it, and today Wynwood has become an internationally recognized destination for art, culture, innovation and creativity.
But Wynwood was always part of a much bigger vision: making Miami the global hub of the Western Hemisphere—a city connecting North America, Latin America and the world.
That journey continues. I thank Ken Griffin for stepping forward and taking a leadership role in carrying this vision into its next chapter.
Wynwood has shown what Miami can become. Now it’s time to take that vision even further.
