Cocoon Recording Studio The Metamorphosis of Musical Creativity…encouraging artists to grow, emerge, and flourish. A cozy studio boutique.

Known locally as a music production lab - the metamorphosis of musical creativity is permitted to grow, emerge and flourish. The Cocoon offers clients a premiere 1200 sq ft. recording facility highlighting: a custom-built analog console, dystopian moss walls; and The Oven, a guitar amp isolation station. Lead music producer and audio engineer, Corey Zack (owner) is recognized for nurturing talent of all levels of his music clients’ journey. The Cocoon is also equipped with plenty of instruments when booking your session, including a Kawai upright piano, Sonor drum kit, and a plethora of guitars and amps.

Before a song can emerge, it needs a place to take shape. Book a tour.

I. A wall of acoustic guitars keeps a collection of different voices whenever a song calls for one.
II. Our custom 500-series console and patching system - the central nervous system - routing sound throughout the studio.
III. A pair of Coles 4038 ribbon microphones over our Sonor kit, surrounded by a tailored blend of absorption and diffusion.
IV. Cocoon-like pendant bulbs illuminate the studio from above, bringing a warm glow to the room.
V. A custom bar with barrel stools sits among “Mosstopia”, alongside an integrated microphone locker and cable storage.

Like a moth to a flame, we spark a luminous studio experience for every band. Book a tour.

I. Original artwork transforms the front head of our Sonor kick drum into a piece of the studio itself.
II. The Oven™ is our custom guitar-amplifier isolation system, prewired for instant experimentation.
III. Custom-built gear racks, the Nest Diffuser, and our Kawai upright surround the studio’s central workspace.
IV. Drum tortillas can be used to dampen the kit for a shorter, mellower tone.
V. An artistic stairwell often used as a chamber to give ambiance to drum recordings.

Our carefully-crafted space peaks your carefully-crafted songs. Book a tour.

I. The uncommon, heavenly-white Kawai upright - crafted in Japan and now at home in Jersey City.
II. A custom-built console sits at the heart of the studio, framed by the lively reflections of the Nest Diffuser.
III. A WA-44 ribbon microphone sits inside a modular vocal booth assembled from acoustic GOBOs.
IV. The studio’s Sonor Newport drum kit brings the warmth, punch, and character with its beechwood shells.
V. Living textures meet acoustic function as preserved moss walls and custom diffusion shape both the look and sound of the studio.
