The City Council ordinance for the Arts Trust levy - 1/4 of a penny tax, NOT the 1/2 penny that had been agreed upon and recommended. The JCAF Committee believes that a 1/2 penny will allow us to reach our goals for a more vibrant Jersey City with the arts as an economic engine for recovery as we emerge from the pandemic. First reading on Wednesday if you want to speak to this.

Jersey City voters voted to pay slightly more in property taxes. The money will be dedicated to providing grants to the visual and performing arts and arts education in the city. The trust fund is the first of its kind in the state.
