Was the Brady Bunch right about the Unlucky Tiki?

For decades, a giant Tiki watched over this iconic Hutchinson Island property. Through the years, restaurants came and went, concepts changed, and success always seemed just out of reach.

Then we started wondering…

Maybe that old Brady Bunch episode about the cursed Tiki idol was trying to tell us something.

Less than a month ago, we removed the massive Tiki sign that had stood over the property for decades. Coincidence or not, something changed.

After nearly 10 months of demolition, planning, designing, permitting, meetings, revisions, and patiently working through the process, ROCKHOUSE LIVE has finally made meaningful progress with Martin County. While there’s still work ahead, we’re excited to say that the project is moving forward and we’re beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We don’t believe in curses, but we do believe in hard work, persistence, and a community that continues to support us every step of the way.

Maybe removing the Tiki didn’t change our luck.

Maybe it simply made room for a new chapter.

We know many of you are asking the same question:

🎸 “When is ROCKHOUSE LIVE opening?”

The truth is, we’re just as eager as you are.

While the building already exists, transforming it into the ROCKHOUSE LIVE experience requires approvals for numerous renovations and improvements, both inside and out. Even without major structural changes, commercial projects must move through a detailed review process involving building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire safety, accessibility, and other code requirements.

Our team continues to work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, property ownership, and Martin County officials to move everything forward as quickly as possible.

The good news? Every extra day is being used to make ROCKHOUSE LIVE even better than originally planned. When the doors finally open, you’ll experience something unlike anything else on the Treasure Coast.

We appreciate your patience, your support, and your excitement. We can’t wait to welcome you to the newest home of live music in Florida

The new ROCKHOUSE LIVE Jensen Beach sign is officially up!

Standing proudly along one of Florida’s most famous roadways, our sign now welcomes locals, beachgoers, bikers, tourists, snowbirds, and music lovers traveling the legendary A1A corridor every day.

A1A isn’t just a road—it’s part of American music culture. It’s inspired songs, road trips, beach memories, and generations of Florida adventures. Now, ROCKHOUSE LIVE is becoming part of that story.

With an estimated 15,000–20,000 vehicles passing this location daily, thousands of people will get their first glimpse of what’s coming to Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island.

Back in the early 1970’s, The Brady Bunch introduced the world to one of television’s most legendary cursed objects… the infamous “Freaky Tiki.”

A tiny Hawaiian idol discovered on a family vacation that seemed harmless at first… until the bad luck started rolling in. Broken surfboards. Twisted ankles. Near disasters. One by one, chaos followed everyone who came near it. The Brady family finally learned the lesson the hard way…

Fast forward decades later to Jensen Beach, Florida.

Long before ROCKHOUSE LIVE ever plugged in the amps or fired up the lights of THE ROCKDECK… there sat another mysterious tiki perched high above the building.

And if local legends are true…
that tiki may have been bringing bad luck to every business beneath it.

The old Gin Mill.
Coconuts.
Chillin’ The Most.
The Copa Cabana.

Different owners.
Different concepts.
Different eras.

But somehow…
the same cycle.

Big dreams.
Hard luck.
Closed doors.

So when the ROCKHOUSE LIVE crew took over the property, they decided this wouldn’t be another quick remodel or surface-level facelift.

They gutted the place down to its bones. Old energy stripped away.
Years of wear, history, and bad luck ripped from the building piece by piece.

A complete rebirth.

Not just a new restaurant…
but an entirely new spirit for the property.

And today, the final piece of the old curse came down.
The tiki.

Removed from above the building after watching over decades of ups and downs on Jensen Beach.

Because ROCKHOUSE LIVE isn’t carrying the past forward.

We’re building something completely new.

The curse is gone.

Now watch the GOOD LUCK FLOW.

Creating RockHouse Live Jensen Beach the right way has required additional time for inspections, approvals, and important venue safety upgrades. While the process has taken longer than anticipated, we truly believe the result will be worth the wait.

The extra time has allowed us to continue expanding the vision and building an even more epic MUSIC FIRST destination for the Treasure Coast.
