A huge thank-you to and the entire Maker Faire Tulsa team for hosting such an inspiring celebration of creativity, innovation, science, and hands-on learning. We had a wonderful time connecting with fellow makers and meeting everyone who stopped by to visit the Oklahoma Aquarium!

Thank you to all the guests, exhibitors, volunteers, and organizers who made this event so special. We loved sharing a little piece of Oklahoma’s only ocean with you! 🌊

Our dive team is repairing a small crack in the seal where the concrete meets the acrylic, not in the acrylic itself. This specialized maintenance helps keep our habitats safe, secure, and running smoothly for the animals who call them home.

Go behind the scenes of the Oklahoma Aquarium’s new Aquatic Research Center with Phil Tate! Currently under construction, this state-of-the-art facility will expand the aquarium’s ability to care for, study, and protect aquatic animals.

In this episode of Tank Talk, Phil gives viewers an inside look at the center’s inner workings, including its unique “dog bone” tank. Designed to house large animals such as bull sharks and our sea turtle, this impressive habitat will support animal care, research, and conservation efforts.

Phil also explores the advanced filtration systems that will keep the habitat running and shares what guests can expect to experience during future tours once the project is complete.

Take a journey into the Extreme Amazon!

This 3,800-gallon freshwater habitat is filled with animals that have developed incredible adaptations for life in the Amazon River. Look closely, and you may spot fish with downward-facing mouths for finding food along the riverbed, while others have upward-facing mouths designed for feeding near the surface.

From colorful fish and freshwater stingrays to iguanas watching from above, there is something new to discover in every corner of this amazing exhibit. Kids can even pop up inside the exhibit’s viewing tunnel for an unforgettable close-up!
