The Jemez Mountains are on fire. Many roads and recreation areas are closed while emergency personnel fight the blaze. We're under a Red Flag Warning (heightened fire weather conditions) and Stage II fire restrictions. If you're planning to visit, please visit with respect.

Here are some things to do this weekend that are open and safe from the McCauley Springs Fire:

- Visit the Jemez Valley Farmers’ Market in Jemez Springs on Saturday from 9-12.

- Hike the Red Rocks Trail at Walatowa Visitor Center and then grab a coffee from the Hummingbird Cafe.

- Take a scenic drive to Gilman Tunnels. If you drive the entire length of FR 376, stop by Paisley's Mountain Market in La Cueva for a snack and a cold drink afterwards.

- Explore the many art galleries of Jemez Springs, starting with Jemez Artisans and Jemez Fine Art Gallery.

- Soak in the thermal waters of the Jemez Springs Bath House.

- Enjoy a picnic with family and friends in the Jemez National Recreation Area SOUTH of Jemez Springs.

- Hit Los Ojos Saloon or the Jemez Mountain Brewhouse for a meal with the family.

- Stay at La Cueva Lodge, Cañon del Rio, The Laughing Lizard Inn, Fenton Lake State Park, San Antonio Campground, or Vista Linda Campground.

Our community is shaken up by the McCauley Springs Fire. A lot of popular places are closed right now, but your support of the places that are still open would mean the world to us.

Father's Day is this Sunday!! Jemez Artisans has lots of gifts for dad (or step dad, grandpa, or Father's figure) to choose from. Stop in between 11am and 5pm, any day of the week!

Join us tomorrow from 1-7pm for the Jemez Art Shop and Stroll.
In addition to our 13 in house artists, we will have 5 art vendors and 1 food vendor, as well as live music from!!

Across the street at the Jemez Fine Art Gallery will also have outdoor art vendors, food and live music. Be sure to pop in to Jemez Mountain Pottery to see more locally made items and WEEKENDS fun collection and outdoor vendors!

We have 2 doggos that hangout at the gallery, Queso and Wick. Mr. Wick sometimes hangs out on the bench with his stick and if he takes a liking to you, he may give you a big boop!

Stop in often to explore the collection of unique, original works of art in varying media by artist Benjamin Green. You will find 2-D mixed media art and watercolor paintings for the wall, miniature reproductions of art in the form of magnets or bookmarks (perfect for gifts or travel momentos), as well as literature!
