This is my Mini Floating Gypsy Ball. I love zombie balls. I wanted one small enough to keep in my pocket and do as close up, impromptu styal. All hand made in my workshop. A small wooden antique box is produced from your pocket. In it is a small white ball. By rubbing the ball with the supplied black handkerchief, the ball begins to glow. The ball is placed on the box and the handkerchief is placed over it. The glowing ball then begins to levitate and float under the handkerchief. It comes back to rest on the box. It is rubbed with the handkerchief once more as the light goes out. The ball is placed back into the box and pocketed. Easy to do. We created a very unique line of magic in our shop, and I absolutely loved doing it. My items were designed to have the look and feel of old-world curiosities. Also, I was a performer for many years as well. My one man show "Cabinet of Curiosities" played all over the US and parts of Europe and Asia. I don't perform much anymore. I've had to retire due to curvature of my fingers. That said, I have a number of very nice one of a kind props and limited edition items that were used in my Cabinet of Curiosities show, my close-up sets, parlor show, and my bar magic show. I was a real worker when I was young. I will be listing my one of a kind magic aporatis, magic close-up tables, boxes, well you name it. All with the same great quality and attention to detail Arlen Studio was known for.

Here we go again folks. This is Newton's Apple by Arlen Studio. This product is based on a classic premise with a twist. An apple is shown threaded onto a piece of cord on an antique contraption from Sir Isaac Newton's scientific study. The apple is seen to move freely up and down the string. When placed at the top, it falls to the bottom, thus proving Newton's theory of gravity. However, all is not as it seems. After a magical gesture, the apple now stays at the top of the cord. Under your command, the apple will travel to any point on the cord that the spectator points to. It can move quickly or slowly down the cord. As a final kicker, the apple falls to the bottom of the cord. On your command, the apple rises to the top of the cord and into your waiting hand or merely falls back to the bottom. The choice is yours. The extra apple on the separate string is included so that you can perform this without the antique stand. Both apples come threaded on quality cord with brass rings at either end. They also come with the gaff to get the apple to rise by itself on the stand. A link to the video tutorial is included. Here is one of my cigarillo precision mechanical card boxes. I originally released these as an alternate card / silk exchange box for my Silk to Flush Flutes.

However, this cigarillo card case has many applications. It is magnetic. One side of the case is a bit deeper to create a small void to hold a larger load. The other side accepts the flap to hold in place tightly over your cards. Carefully balanced magnets on both sides of the case hold the flap on each side in place so as to be able to freely show the open case. Once closed, the stronger magnetic side pulls the void side down firmly over your cards reveling your larger load. Once closed, the case can be handed to your spectator to be opened.

They come in two colors. Antiqued simulation brown leather and black simulation black leather. The trim is silver. The brown is a better match for my Silk to Flush Flute tops. I modify these very nice and durable cases by hand in my workshop here in East Texas. They are time consuming as persicion is key to the workings.

And yes the gaffed Bicycle card case is included as well
This will open even more possibilities.

Here is a demo of my latest magic release. A number of years ago I released The Ace and Silk Chambers. This is an updated version of thouse. The Champaign Flutes make for a much easier handling and classier feel. I was in a fancy restaurant years ago. We had ordered Champaign. When the flutes of Champaign came, they had tops on them so as to keep the Champaign from going flat. I thought it was very classy and a cool look. And thus this fine effect was re worked and born.

The effect: Two Champaign flutes are shown. One has a red silk in it and the other contains a blue silk. A deck of cards is produced and a royal straight flush is magicly produced from it. The rest of the cards are placed off to the side. The flush is placed back into the empty card box. The spectator is asked to choose between the red or blue silks in the two Champaign Flutes. The color is selected and the preformer removes the silk not selected and places it over the flute containing the selected silk. In a flash, the silk is pulled away to show the flush cards from before are now in the flute. The other silk is removed from the card box and the flush is gone. This is one of the most visual transposition effects there is.

This is a very visual change and is lighting fast. It is also extremely easy to do, allowing you to focus on your performance.

The gimmicked card box and a clever gaff make it all possible.

This set opens up a few possibilities to you. You will need a good card production routine in the beginning to make the flush cards appear. Like an ace production. And a deck of cards. This is a great opener or closer and will leave your audience completely baffled.

Everything needed to do the rest of the routine is included. The flutes are made of thick arcrlic so they will not brake while traveling. And the card box is a regular bicycle box with a neat magnetic mechanism built into to.

A Certificate of Authenticity from Arlen Studio is included.

A few weeks back. I did some parlor magic at a Freemason mixer. I built two special pieces specifically for the event. This is called "The Crusader Cups".

Two large pewter wine gobletes are removed from an old wooden holy chest and shown. They are both placed top down on the velvet top of a holy chest. The audience is asked if they would know the true Grail Cup if it were shown to them. The large goblets are lifted to now reveal two small golden gobletes. Three silver coins are produced and placed into one of the large gobletes. Both goblets are turned upside down. When lifted, one coin has traveled from one goblet to the other. This is repeated untill all three coins end up one by one under the other goblet. Then one coin is dropped into one of the empty gobletes. The goblet is lifted into the air over the chest. On the magicians comand, the coin penatrates through the cup and falls on to the chest. The now empty goblet is place upside down on the table next to the coin. The magician suggests they do it again but the way they would have played during the time of the Crusades. He then dumps a large amount of holy treasure into the top of the chest from one of the empty gobletes.

This is a One of a Kind piece. You get everything in the pics. Two customized large gobletes. They work like an Okito Slot Box. Two smaller gold production gobletes. (I'll add a thierd small matching gold goblete for a miniature three cups and balls routine. The pearls in the treasure for the final load will work nicely for this). Metal final load insert. (You can pour wine from it as well). Metal prop ancient coin replicas and jewels. Three replica walking liberty halfs and one magnetic half. A cool brass kings crown tipped wand for misdirection. Bags to hold your loose props. And a Certificate of Authenticity from Arlen Studio .

I have a warehouse full of props I've made over the years. I can only keep a few items as I am trying to downsize for a move.

This is a Crusader head I did for a close up magic show I am doing in October. It is a part of a magic effect. It is manually operated like a puppet with peddles on the floor by foot.

OK. My Card Satyr is finished. I'll get some video up next week. This was a lot of work but alot of fun. Here is the skinny. No pun intended.

I am a life long scholar of the Crusades. I am also an aurthor, special effects artist and professional close-up magician.

I was asked to do a talk about the Crusades and an upcoming book of fiction I am writing on the topic at an upcoming Freemason event. I plan on giving my talk (It is about a little known event that happened during the middle Crusades called " The childrens Crusade") and then doing a bit of close-up magic at the mixer afterwards. I built this for the after Q and A and close-up magic performance.

What it does: The performer shows a holy chest with something on top covered by a red velvet bag. It is explained that this is a holy relic from the Crusades. The bag is removed to show the mummified head of a Knights Templar. There is much more to the patter. For brevity sake, I'll not get into it here.

Four spectators are asked to each select a card from a special size deck of Tarot cards. The selected cards are all droped into the red velvet bag that covered the head.

A coin is removed from a small golden goblet and placed in front of the curtain lined opening in the chest, as an offering needs to be made to have this once great knight tell you about your future fortunes. Suddenly, the curtains begins to move. Smoke starts to creep out from under the curtain. Glowing lights are seen through the curtain. Then a mummified hand slowly crawls out, snatches up the coin and returns to the dark interior of the chest.

Then the head that has been hanging down and still the whole time slowly begins to move. It tilts up, turns from side to side as the jaw opens and closes. Suddenly, the mouth opens wide and a long tung pops out with a selected card attached to it. Then one by one or all at once, the three remaining selected cards pop up from the inside of the head. The red velvet bag is now shown to be empty.

Note: This prop is manually operated using leavers from behind the chest with one hand or via a foot pedal on the floor so as to keep your hands free. It is set up to run either way. This prop is rigged with lights and smoke. The head is animated by a folcrum method as used in FX puppets. It operates manually.

Once my talk is compleat, this prop will be for sale. It will be available after October 4th. I'm happy to consider all offers over $1,500.00. Its not something I am in a huge hurry to sell. It looks cool in my magic room. LOL. But for the right price it is yours. Thanks for looking. I hope you got as big a kick out of it as I did creating it. I would estimate this one took a total of 84 continuous hours to fabricate. And $275.00 in materials. I need to make at least $20.00 an hour for my time. Happy almost fall everyone!

Here is one of my latest creations. The Pharoah's Ring Tomb Mystery. It is a ring on rod effect where the ring is produced before the effect in an empty chamber on top of the box. Then a Pharoah's staff is placed through the holes in the tomb. The front cover is slid in place. The ring is dropped into the top. When the cover is pulled up and open, the ring is now on the rod. Instructions are included along with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. I'll be doing a limited run on these to go with my Isis Prediction Tombs. Each one is hand made in my workshop by me. The first run of six will be ready to ship on Sep. 30th. I'm taking pre orders now. I have four still available. Hope you all like it!
