Whether you've been following Off the Rail for the last few years or have just recently discovered this page, we want to prep you for a few changes coming up:

First, we're going to be transitioning away from posting on the Off the Rail social media accounts and centralizing everything directly through Jefferson Community Theatre pages. So go like and follow there so you don't miss anything!

Second, we're pushing pause on our regular Wednesday workshops and Saturday performances for at least the immediate future. Having a resident troupe requires a strong structural foundation, and we're looking at ways to better align this foundation with the core JCT and City of Jefferson structure and programming.

If you're following along here for information about youth workshops, that content will now be available on the JCT socials as well! Your one stop shop for all the exciting happenings at Jefferson Community Theatre.

On show weeks, we often spend our Wednesday workshop time brushing up on skills we'll put into action on the stage on Saturday. Even though we're a bit show-focused, our workshops are still open to the public , and as aways, free to attend.

We're looking for a volunteer photographer!

As a completely volunteer-run organization, we aren't able to pay, but we can absolutely trade tickets and concessions for your time and talents.

And as a completely volunteer-run organization, we're thrilled with volunteer-level equipment. Meaning you don't need a fancy camera and editing software to help us out. If you have a decent cell phone camera, an eye for framing, and the technical know-how to upload your photos to a Google Drive at the end of the night, you might be EXACTLY who we're looking for. And if you're fancier than that and want to help us out, we certainly won't turn you down!

We had 12 local youth at our January youth and teen workshop and showcase, and we've already had four more sign up for February!

If you know someone ages 8-18 who might be interested in learning a new skill, send them the registration form right away so we can get them added to our class roster for next week.

What a wildly successful first night of our four-workshop series for youth and teens!

We split into two groups and learned improv fundamentals such as imaginative thinking, ideas in a category, character relationships, stage presence, projection, and acting out attributes.

The best part was the showcase after class. 12 confident young people took to the stage to show an audience what they had learned.

We'll be at it again on February 25, with a fresh curriculum for a new set of skills.

Registration is still open! The more the merrier at improv.
