It's Word Wednesay! Prepare for lots of amazing, free ENTERTAINMENT or "Unterhaltungat" at the Jasper Strassenfest. As we build up to the Strassenfest each year, we love sharing what makes our festival so unique. Introducing... Word Wednesday! Follow along as we describe some of the things that make the Jasper Strassenfest special, and learn some German words along the way!

Today we present "Community" or "die Gemeinschaft". From the outstanding not-for-profit groups that run our booths and events to seeing so many members of our community enjoying the festivities, this word is truly the heart of the Strassenfest.

We were saddened to hear about the recent passing of long-time Strassenfest polka contest champion, Leo Eckerle. It was a joy to see Leo spinning around the dance floor and he will be greatly missed!

🚨🇺🇸 🎉 At this year's Jasper Strassenfest we will celebrate America's 250th Birthday! The button and theme, "Threads of History, Patterns of Progress", interweaves the area’s rich German heritage with a momentous milestone for our country, reminding us how our community's story is woven from the contributions of generations past and present.

Members of the Dubois County chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will serve as the Hofmarshall at this year’s festival as we honor their century-long commitment to preserving the historical threads that connect our community to America's founding principles.
