🎸 JOHN WAITE IS READY FOR FOOTHILLS! 🎸

If you need another reason to be excited about next Saturday night, this is it! 🔥

Today’s Daily Mountain Eagle caught up with rock icon John Waite, who takes the Main Stage at the 2026 Metal Central Foothills Festival next Saturday, September 12, at 6 PM.

From his days with The Babys and Bad English to a solo career that gave us unforgettable hits like “Missing You” and “Change,” Waite has been making music for more than four decades. And judging by what he told the Eagle, he still loves being on stage just as much as ever.

🎶 “The songs are completely new to me every time I sing them.”

And when it comes to what you can expect from his live show?

🎸 “There’s no tapes. There’s no rehearsed dialogue. Anything can happen. It’s a real, true experience.”

Waite describes the chemistry with his band as “magic” and says of performing live:

“These shows are an atmosphere of life. And I don’t take it lightly.”

We have a feeling hearing “Missing You” live in Historic Downtown Jasper is going to be one of those Foothills moments. ❤️🎶

The guides, which include a map, artist stories, and festival information, will also be available at our office and at the DME booth at the festival. The DME is a partner of the festival, which will be held Sept. 11-12 in downtown Jasper.

JOHN WAITE JOINS WJLX 101.5 FM TODAY AT NOON!

John Waite has been a fixture in rock music for decades, first as the lead singer of The Babys, with classics like “Isn’t It Time” and “Every Time I Think of You,” and later with the supergroup Bad English, known for the #1 smash “When I See You Smile.”

As a solo artist, Waite scored one of the defining hits of the ’80s with the #1 classic “Missing You,” a song that remains a radio favorite more than four decades later.

Waite will perform at the 2026 Metal Central Foothills Festival in Downtown Jasper on Saturday, September 12.

On Saturday, bring the kids to Courthouse Square for plenty of fun throughout the day!

🎨 Scrubs, the mascot for our Crescendo Partner, Baptist Health Walker Hospital, will be there from 10 AM to 12 noon with a special art activity for the kids!

💃 DreamFit will get everyone moving with dance-alongs at 10 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1 PM!

And that’s not all! Look for more kids’ activities throughout the festival.
