With a mix of struggling with tennis elbow that has me on restrictions and having "artist block", I decided to work on a project for myself that I've been putting off for months. This comic is the last comic from Calvin and Hobbes dated Dec 31st 1995. With Calvin and Hobbes being my mom's favorite she cut it out of the Sunday paper that day, framed it and kept it ever since until recently she decided to take it down. This comic fits my outlook on life and I love the messages it gives. It's been on my to do list to give this 30 year old comic a makeover so I went to work. I traced it, added some watercolor paint and outlined with black ink. Simple yet satisfying.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what you create as long as you're creating and you feel good while doing it.😊

Do you like the colored or the black and white photo better? I can't decide.

I've passed this truck sooooo many times driving the backroads and always thought this truck would make a great photo. Today the wind is blowing 40mph and the way that American flag was blowing in the wind it was begging me to take a picture.

UPDATE: Now there is a third option, idea credited by Jess Dowd. I think I'm loving this idea, the bw with the colored flag!!!

If you look the world will come right by your window. Earlier this week the northern lights made an appearance in southern Wisconsin. Something I thought I’d have to travel to Alaska or Canada to see came right to my own backyard. Was it as grand as it probably is in those parts of the country, probably not but it was an experience I’ll never forget.
