Jamestown Community Theatre is getting ready to take a journey through time with Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, and we want to see you at auditions!

Wondering what these unforgettable characters are all about? Take a look at this video featuring the recent Broadway stars discussing their roles and the world of Merrily. It’s a great introduction to the characters, relationships, and heart behind this extraordinary musical.

Auditions are open to adults, teens, and children in grade 5 and up. There are six adult leads, one child lead, numerous featured singing and speaking roles, and ensemble opportunities.

Join Jamestown Community Theatre as we tell Stephen Sondheim’s iconic story about dreams, friendship, and ambition, all told in reverse. That’s right, JCT’s fall show is Merrily We Roll Along!

Adults, teens, and students in grades 5+ are welcome to join us for auditions on the evening of Thursday, September 3 (by appointment only). Email [email protected] to sign up, receive audition materials, and learn more.

Auditions will occur by appointment in groups. For young performers in grades 5-8, initial auditions will include singing. Adults and high schoolers will be asked to sing and read a short monologue. Finalists for lead and featured roles will be invited to callbacks (Sept 8, and possibly Sept 10), which may involve additional singing, reading from the script, and dancing.

Performances run November 19–22. We can’t wait to see you on stage!

You made us laugh, and you made us think about love in a whole new way. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, and thank you for bringing Almost, Maine to Jamestown, Rhode Island. ❤️

As we eagerly await opening the show tomorrow to a sold out audience, we want to thank the AMAZING crew who has made the Almost, Maine magic happen — behind the scenes.

Director Keri Boisclair has led the charge, inspiring everyone to bring their best to the show. She is joined by Assistant Director Mary Wright, Stage Manager Christine Boulanger, Costume Designer Janice Bell, and Set Designer Maryann England.

We are thrilled to have Jane Hammond as Assistant Stage Manager and Vivian Martin-Dym as our Lighting Technician.

And a very, very special thank you to Jim Lawrence Wilson for writing and performing original music for the show!

We saved some big laughs for the final scene! Kathleen Brown and Jerry Larkin bring a healthy dose of humor to the wonderfully awkward friendship between Rhonda and Dave. Because sometimes the perfect way to end a show is with bumbling flirting, clumsy small talk, and a little Almost, Maine magic.

We are excited to welcome Megan Lummus to Almost, Maine in the role of Hope, a thoughtful woman who has spent years reflecting on one of the most important decisions of her life. Her interaction with Daniel (double cast, played by Joe Adams and Chris Hauver) reveals a bittersweet reality that some decisions, if postponed too long, are simply made for you.

When Gayle, played by Bella Rocheleau, tries to return all the love Lendall, played by Nathan Collins, has ever given her, an unexpected twist transforms heartbreak into hope. We love this heartfelt scene from Almost, Maine.
