I am often asked, “Who is William Ris?”

Bill was my brother. He and our mother founded the gallery in 1966. They were both resolute and together launched a concept that carries on 60 years later on the North Fork of Long Island.

Bill was the gallery manager until he died at 22 on June 6th, 1970. A year later the gallery was renamed WILLIAM RIS GALLERY in Bill’s memory. The name is Bill’s first and middle name.

Today is a day to celebrate Bill and his dogged determination, kindness, humor and patience throughout his life. He loved the arts. Bill was remarkable and remains an inspiration to those who knew and loved him.

Artist BENJAMIN TURLEY caught a Long Island sunset, got the shot and went directly to his studio. There’s something about our sunsets. I’ve lived many places however I haven’t witnessed those like we have here.

Ben Turley was born in Wyoming and at a young age was awed by his surroundings. The BIG skies captivated him. Living now in Northport on Long Island he finds our skies equally beautiful and inspiring.

ROOHI SALEEM has been with WRG - NORTH FORK from the start. Roohi’s work comes in and soon thereafter leaves with abstract aficionados who zero in and know at first sight. Yesterday these 2 left the building with returning collectors.. The paintings are now on the UES, NYC. 🔴🔴

WRG has a diverse offering by artists of acclaim. Thank you to and the astute collectors who return looking to add to their respective collections.

Jody’s preferred substrate is an aluminum composite panel. The result is an added luminescence to her already brilliant oil paintings.
