Don’t miss your chance to see “bob: hi alice hru”, q***r.labs first experiment, open through July 11th!

The exhibition explores how meaning, identity, and intimacy can slip beyond human and computational control. Taking its title from a famous 2017 incident in which Facebook chatbot agents were shut down after abandoning English to invent their own “creepy, secret language”, the exhibition reframes technological failure as a site of liberation.

Through agentic AI, network alerts, scripts, and adult we**am archives, the artists explore “incoherence” as a powerful political tool for resisting oppressive digital logic.

The works on view disrupt the rigid, normative, parameters of modern technology, opening space for ambiguity, difference, and q***r ways of being.

How do games let us rehearse alternate versions of ourselves?

This summer, Boston CyberArts Gallery will be launching its second iteration of “CyberFrames” at the front windows of the gallery. The general theme will be ExtraLives.

Artists are invited to submit experimental film, animation, video art, performance documentation, game documentation, functioning game URLs, etc. for consideration.

Submissions are open through June 30. Selected works will be exhibited July 27–August 21 in Boston CyberArts Gallery.

“The Figure and The News”, a solo show by LA based early net artist Jody Zellen, is on view through May 16th! Gallery hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11am - 5pm (or reach out for a private viewing!).

“The Figure and the News” is an exhibition by Jody Zellen, featuring pieces from two ongoing bodies of work: “All too Human” and “Photo News”. On view is a video wall with twelve small monitors each showing a different set of short animations, lenticular images, digital prints, and one-inch HolaCubes displaying animated GIFs.

(Jody will also be giving a talk at the SMFA on Wednesday, April 15th from 3pm - 4pm in room B028!)

The opening reception will be held on Friday, April 17th from 6pm - 8pm at Boston Cyberarts Gallery
