Stand Up Break In announcement: In May, The Riot Theater is moving to Roslindale in partnership with the theater’s flagship show, ComedySportz! Unfortunately, with this move, we have decided not to move with them.

While the new space is great and provides an incredible opportunity for ComedySportz (which we’re sure will thrive there) we’ve decided it’s not the right fit for our stand-up show. We’re grateful for the 3+ years Stand Up Break In has been able to call The Riot Theater our home, but all good things must come to an end. We will be looking for other venues but officially our last show will be a “Comic Sit-In Parade” where all of our previous Sit-Ins will perform in lieu of an open mic on April 26th! We hope to see you there for one last hurrah!

Announcing our Comic Sit-In for March and April, it's Josh Do!

Josh Do is quiet and small. You could almost miss him if you weren't paying attention, but that would be a mistake because you'd be missing out on one of the funniest comedians in Boston. Josh's performance is smooth and restrained,, so that even the slightest raising of his voice is as effective as a lesser comedian yelling. His material is often dark and absurd, and always delivered with a smirk.

Announcing our Comic Sit-In for January and February of 2018, it's Kathleen DeMarle!

Taller than the average American male, Kathleen DeMarle is a Boston-based stand-up comedian and writer. With a mix of self-deprecating humor and oddball storytelling, she’s bound to keep you laughing. Kathleen can be found appearing regularly at venues like The Comedy Studio, ImprovBoston, Nick's Comedy Stop and all across New England. Recently, she performed at the 2017 Cleveland Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Arts Festival and Charm City Comedy Festival. Kathleen’s other comedic pursuits consist of co-producing a monthly showcase show, Laughter on Tap and contributing articles and one-liners to comedy websites including: The Higgs Weldon, WICF Daily, and Unscene Comedy. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys watching the Food Network while eating microwaveable pizza, dancing badly on purpose, and being her blind dog’s seeing-eye human

Announcing our final Comic Sit-In of 2017 for November and December, it's Nate Davis!

Nate is a comedian who grew up in Boston, went to college in New Hampshire, and now is back in Boston. He brings his correspondingly worldly views to a variety of stages from just north of the Charles River to just south of the Charles River. Some of his favorite topics to explore are his privileged upbringing, music without instruments, and mob weaponry. When not holding a mirror up to society on the standup scene, Nate can also be found dabbling in the art of improv comedy at Improv Asylum in the North End. Nate’s first ever show was at Stand Up Break In and he is incredibly excited to return as Comic Sit-In! Also, sometimes he tweets at !

Announcing our Comic Sit-In for September and October, it's Vally D!

Vally D is a Boston-based comedian. Once she has enough fans, she'll make people learn her last name.

She jokes about current events, her personal life, and her mustache. She has performed at Boston’s Comedy Studio, Denver Comedy Works, Maine’s Portland Comedy Festival, and Reykjavik’s Goldengang Comedy. The objective is to track how mustache humor is received, regardless of geography. Perhaps as the Comic Sit-in at Stand Up Break In she’ll graduate to beard humor.

Some have found her to be "so funny." Others have described her comedy as "funny." Still others have shared no feedback. Share yours on Twitter or her fancy internet website vallyd.com.
