As we begin to wind down Christmas day, I want to wish each and every one of you the best. I hope you all got what you wanted this year. But more importantly, I hope you all were able to spend some quality time with the ones you love. The 84 crew has had a wonderful Christmas this year. We are blessed in so many ways. Are you guys ready for Saturday? Spread the word! The OUTLAW CLASS is back at 84! We've got all the rides you know and love, plus a few surprises coming up from Florida! Come on out and be a part of it! The classes and payouts will be as follows:

Outlaw Class: $300-1st, $200-2nd, $100-3rd

Topground Consistency: $300-1st, $200-2nd, $100-3rd

4.0 Breakout Class: 100% payback from entry fees

Bogg Hole: 100% payback from entry fees & 1st place trophy

Chicago Style: 100% payback from entry fees & trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

ATV Consistency and Bogg classes: 100% payback from entry fees & trophies for 1st place.

Spank-The-Monkey Class for street-legal trucks: No entry fee, and a trophy for 1st place.

DON'T FORGET!!! Due to the large number of entries, we will be signing up ATVs at 5:00 (georgia time) and trucks at 6:00 so we can start racing a little earlier. Gates will open at 4:00. Pending any severe rain... This ought to be a great show! Don't miss it!!!!!! Please note that as we get through the week, the weather seems to making a turn for the worse... Are we scared? Hell no! Our track drains well, and a little extra water makes the mud a little muddier! No problem for us! That being said though, if lots of people do chicken out and our headcount and truck count is WAY down from the weather, we might have to cut back on some classes. But we'll still pay the best we can! I really don't expect that to happen, but Ron wanted me to add this in here. Either way... WE'RE RACING SATURDAY NIGHT AT 84!!!!

How many FORD fans do we have out there? Looks like Mr. Tommy Walker will be bringing his RENEGADE truck up from Orlando this weekend! Not only is this one of the best looking 79s you'll see out there... This truck does it all! Chicago! Bogg! You name it, and this truck does it, and does it well! If you guys are looking for a truck that ALWAYS puts on a show, here it is! Tommy and his driver Jamie will take this truck to the EDGE!

I just found out that we lost another good man this week. Mr. Dale Yates was a great friend to us at the track. Always had a good attitude, and was just fun to be around. He also spent a lot of time with the younger guys (like Jared, who is in the picture with him) giving advice and helping them get tuned up and ready to race. Dale was a great guy, and we'll all miss seeing him throw that fullsize Chevrolet around the corners like a toy.

Rest easy, my friend...

Hey guys... This is your old retired announcer/chief racetrack laborer Dell. Been a while since I popped in on this page. I was just getting off work this afternoon when Ron told me about the passing of Mr. Ricky Penton. That hit hard. The thing I loved most about working the track were the amazing people I met in my time there, and the priviledge to still consider a lot of the folks I met as friends even after all these years, and among the best people I met along the way was the Penton family. It was always a pleasure hanging out with these guys before, during, and after the races. The name of the truck was "Good Times", and that was the perfect name for that truck, because that's exactly what we had. I don't believe I ever saw Ricky with anything but a smile on his face, and his great attitude was contagious. It was hard to have a bad night around him. I remember one night I was having a terrible time between problems with the audio system and the clocks acting up. I was feeling really horrible because I had to make Josh run additional passes after losing his time twice due to the clock not tripping. Ricky came up in the tower, and I was expecting him to be furious so I started apologizing immediately. He started laughing and said "Don't worry about it. That's racing. But it looked fast, didn't it?" Mr. Ricky was one of a kind. Not to mention that when David was little running around the track, Ricky and Slim were by far his favorite people to be around. He always took time to let David hang around and show him stuff on the truck and answer his questions. Thinking about all the good times we had with Ricky as I threw stuff in the suitcase and started heading north... I was reminded once again that the fun I've had at the racetracks over the years have been way more because of the people than the racing itself. This is one of my favorite pictures ever taken at the track. Josh, Ricky, David, myself, and Slim having "Good Times" before a race.

We'll all dearly miss Ricky and will remember our time with him. Please keep him and the rest of the Penton family in your prayers as he is laid to rest tomorrow.

With a heavy heart I'm sad to say we lost a good friend and fellow mud racer Scott Buchanan you will be missed by many RIP till we race again !!
