I've been accumulating new theatre practices as of late with the goal of creating new theatre that is specifically designed to address concerns of our greater community. If you are interested an ensemble-created, ensemble performed piece of theatre to start the process in mid to late June, please reach out. I hope to find a public venue that would welcome a worthy topic for a collaborative experience.

I've got my eyes on a small musical to launch this company; but, I still need a location to rehearse and perform. It can be a temporary home. I am happily eager for suggestions! I'd like to audition for the piece in late May and rehearse in mid-June to early July to open mid-July.

I took a walk in Murray Hill recently and took a few pictures inside possible spaces for an actor's lab/intimate theatre. I am torn with conundrums - Can a new, intimate theatre space survive in Jacksonville? Will there be students that wish to further their craft in an intimate, ensemble setting? Will the creation of new work be welcomed into our market? Is this all a dream that only I see - or will support rally? What portion of the rent and expenses can tuition to classes and ticket sales fund? I am hoping for clarity to some of these as summer arrives. If this is to advance this year, a space to rent will most likely occur in July (as my personal calendar may clear up a bit.) Advice, love, and support are welcomed. :)

Aside from a new business model where all of the creators and collaborators involved in a theatrical production can share in any financial reward that might exist, a new company of intimate and adult-minded work can add a type of theatre selection that is not as common to Jacksonville. I am putting positive thoughts into getting started by finding a house for our company, creating a core ensemble, determining training and classes that might assist our company and community, and meeting to discuss an operable business model. My mantra this year is all about the things that are possible...if you want to be involved in this project and believe in new theatre in Jacksonville, let's talk soon.
