STEP SENSEI

Jerel Williams passion for stepping began 19 years ago while watching his peers rehearse after school. This technique was inspired to helped practice and eventually gave him his own show. Soon after the opportunity was presented from Washington, DC. The opportunity was presented with the first professional dance company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, called ”STEP AFRIKA!”

Today, “Step Sensei” has resigned to the hometown Jacksonville Fl., to help create a greater community through the “ART” of dance/stepping as well as bringing communities together around the world. Throughout this journey “Step Sensei” has had the opportunity to teach several techniques such as: “South African Gumboot Dance, South African Zulu, and Depkah” which is a form of dance from the country of Ahmad Jordan. It is a great tool that benefits people in areas such as physical, mental and social health. Stepping also provides a disciplinary focus for promised youth.
