Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it struck the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with four ballistic missiles as part of what it called “Operation True Promise 4.”
The IRGC warned that “the land and sea will increasingly become the graveyard of the terrorist aggressors.”
US Central Command (CENTCOM) denied the claim, stating: “The Lincoln was not hit. The missiles launched didn’t even come close,” and said the carrier continued launching aircraft during operations.
Separately, the United States confirmed it sank an Iranian warship in the Persian Gulf, marking the first direct US-Iran naval engagement of the conflict.
The US military confirmed three American soldiers were killed and five seriously wounded in operations related to the conflict, while Iranian missile strikes also hit residential areas in Beit Shemesh, Israel, killing six people.
