Remembering last year's Rock the Block event on New Bridge Street Jacksonville, NC. I was so excited that the city I lived in was hosting this event. Jacksonville, NC is growing and so many small businesses are growing here and having a festival of our own is something to celebrate 🥳

And now this Friday, Sept. 4th 5 to 9pm Rock the Block is back for year two and it's going to be even better. You are not going to want to miss the food, the vendors, the live music and the whole vibe. Bring your family and friends downtown and celebrate with us and make some memories.

If you would have told me I would have fresh wildflowers that I grew decorating my art space a few years I ago I would have laughed. If you told me I would be brave enough to try and create a whimsical set up for my art space I might question you. There are alot of things we can learn and its funny how we are capable of tremendous growth if we just open our minds up to it.

Last night I scooted this old vintage desk into one of the spaces I love to create and I organized the materials placed inside each drawer. I found this at a yearly yardsale last summer and it just sat in our living room wrapped at first, because we were afraid it had termites. But I think we are good and it was probably ready to move in for a while. So without the help of my husband and using my own lady strength I moved it to its destined spot. I am inspired by so many military wives who redo their homes and have so many carpentry skills...and I want to learn to do more on my own too. So for me this was my first step.

Here's to stepping out and creating the lives we want...to creating the whimsy we wish to see in the world. Here's to creating one beautiful life with our own two hands.
