All done. It’s not perfect but I pretty dang proud of my first completed canvas oil painting where I actually understand how to paint with oils. I am pretty dang proud of it 😀

I have fallen off the Inktober wagon with our house closing, sick kiddo, freelance work and trying to purge/organize the house but I still intend to finish it over time. I have learned to be not be so hard on myself for taking time where it’s needed. So the alla prima (painted in one day) painting isn’t alla prima at all since it took me weeks.

Lesson learned, I lose interest quickly and need to paint it in one day. Also I learned that I like the softness and flexibility with wet in wet oil painting better than doing it in glazes (letting each layer dry first).

So I fell a bit behind. I got caught up today. I love fowl and am so so on salty. I feel like my face is a bit too wide but I wanted to try an angled face. Overall it’s okay. Not happy with scrape but that’s okay. I learned from it and that’s what matters most!
