I imagine this is the last post I will make on this account. we did it y'all! you guys made a night of original songs the best open mic in the city! I am so proud of the time I spent hosting this night. I am forever grateful for the wonderful community of songwriters it brought into my life. thanks for making it awesome! see you guys around!

the final songwriter spotlight

what an amazing night. we kicked it off early with a christmas potluck and a special performance by Blossomin' Bone.

so many family and friends came out. it was beautiful. tears were shed. songs were sung. hugs were shared. the list was so stacked with talent we had to go into overtime. i don't think we sang the final song until almost 2:30am. thank you so much to the bartenders, Leroy and Katie, for letting us finish out with a bang.

i am sure School Paper will be able to express the emotions of the night much better than i can and i look forward to reading what he has to say.

i have truly loved being your host for these past 4 years or so. thank you to everyone that came out to our weird wednesdays and performed or supported. thank you to all the bartenders over the years, and the past hosts of the night. thank you to Christina for providing us a space to truly express ourselves and entrusting me with such a special night. these will be nights i will think about forever. what a ride.

some of you were asking me to do this, so i decided since this is the last one, i would do a featured set myself. i want to express how much these wednesday nights with all of you have meant to me. each week i get to watch and listen as some of the very best talent in town share their gifts with the community FOR FREE! i have also gotten to witness peoples very first performance ever. that is something very special. thank you to everyone who has come out and performed and supported, thank you to the bar staff, and the former hosts, and thank you to Christina for putting her faith in me to carry the night on for these past few years. i can't wait to see everyone that can make it out one last time. happy holidays everybody, i'll meet you at rain dogs.

12/18/24 - last week JEA decided it didn't want us to have power or water at rain dogs, so we went to Megan's house and sang anyway. we have one more Songwriter Spotlight this wednesday (Christmas night!!!) and it is going to be great. i hope to see everyone there!
