🌿 Ribault Garden Club Open House! 🌿

What a wonderful day at Ribault Garden Club! Our Open House was filled with friendship, fun, food, and plenty of gardening inspiration. 🌱💚

We enjoyed a fascinating and informative presentation by Cyndi Scully on Tower Gardens and aeroponic gardening—a creative way to grow plants without soil. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn something new and imagine the possibilities of growing in a whole new way!

Our guests also enjoyed delicious food, educational displays, and lots of excitement as our raffle winners were announced! 🎟️🎉

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Open House such a success, and to all who joined us for a wonderful day of growing, learning, and sharing the joy of gardening. 🌸🌿

The Forgotten Florida Lorax

I am the Florida Lorax, I once spoke for the trees,
For the swamps and the stillness, the soft cypress breeze.
I sang with the herons, I wept with the rains,
Now I walk through the silence where nothing remains.

The oranges once glowed in the gold morning sun,
The springs bubbled clear, and the rivers would run.
But pavement has covered the roots of the past,
The groves and the glades were never meant to last.

I whisper, I wait…does anyone hear?
The gators grow restless, the manatees fear.
The scrub jays have vanished, the moss starts to fade,
The magic of old Florida slipping away.

“Who will remember?” I cry to the skies,
As condos grow tall where the swallowtail flies.
The ghosts of the groves sigh under the moon,
And the dusk smells of sorrow, and endings too soon.

I am the Florida Lorax, forgotten and worn,
My voice barely echoing, ragged and torn.
I once stood for wonder, for wild and free;
Now I stand in the shadows of what used to be.

But still… a few listen, still a few see,
Still a few kneel at the foot of the tree.
They plant with their hands, they hope with their heart,
And from that small flicker, the healing can start.

So if you still care…come walk through the pine,
Remember the waters, the fruit, the sunshine.
I am the Florida Lorax; I grieve, I implore,
But I still speak for the wild… though fewer restore.
