Join us for a relaxed and inspiring ​evening of sketching at the​ Lightner Museum with local artist Martha Ferguson. This workshop will take place in the Lightner Museum’s Ballroom Gallery. Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply looking to slow down and observe, this is a great opportunity to connect with art through sketching in a welcoming, creative environment.

The workshop will begin with a short demonstration and artist talk. Following the demo​nstration, artists will be invited to sketch freely throughout the gallery. Martha will visit with each artist to assist and answer questions about their work.

$15 per person | $5 Lightner Museum Members
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Thrity-one of my oil paintings landed at JAX Airport today! While my “gallery walls” look sad, I’m thrilled for the opportunity to exhibit a complete body of work, inspired by my 2024 travels to Aviles, Spain, in celebration of our sister cities cultural exchange.
The paintings will be displayed until June. Reception dates -TBA.

In this three-day workshop with award-winning artist Martha Ferguson, embrace the beauty of the outdoors by painting en plein air. Through on-location painting, demos, and one-on-one instruction, both intermediate and advanced artists will explore the subtleties of light, atmosphere, and composition in the open air. Working in oils or acrylics, you’ll hone your ability to see and simplify value, shape, color, and edges in dynamic outdoor settings!

**This workshop is best suited for intermediate and advanced artists with a solid grasp of basic drawing and painting fundamentals.
