VIOLET, the re-opening of our beloved Studio Theatre, is a hopeful and deeply moving musical about longing to be seen, daring to be loved, and discovering healing in unexpected places.

Set in 1964, Violet follows a young woman scarred by a childhood accident as she journeys across the American South in search of a televangelist who she believes can heal her. Along the way, she meets fellow travelers who challenge her understanding of beauty, faith, and self-worth. With a soaring folk and gospel-inspired score by Jeanine Tesori, Violet is a heartfelt story of discovery, resilience, and seeing oneself beyond the scars.

🚢 🪩 MEET THE PASSENGERS OF DISASTER! 🪩 🚢

FRANKIE RADY
~ Ensemble ~

Frankie was last seen onstage at Players as ensemble in our production of RENT. Frankie has also recently performed as Friar Francis in Much Ado About Nothing which ran just last month before this show even opened! Some of Frankie’s other favorite shows he’s been in include Jekyll and Hyde (Ensemble), Bat Boy the Musical (Bud/Pan) at ABET, Kinky Boots (George) and Sweeney Todd (Ensemble). Frankie would like to thank his family, friends, partner and the cast and crew of Disaster! for their unwavering support. Enjoy the show!

AIDAN CURRAN
~ Ensemble ~

Aidan is thrilled to be returning to the stage at Players by the Sea. He previously was in the ensemble of West Side Story (2023). You may have also seen him as Pig #2 in Shrek the Musical (2026) at Greenlight Theatre Company, Ensemble in Mamma Mia! (2019), various characters in Space Princess Wars (2020) and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2021) at The Bolles School.

Summer is delighted to make her Players by the Sea debut! With training from both Florida and Orlando Ballet, her training also extends to dance competitions, like Dance Makers Inc. She holds a BFA in Dance from Jacksonville University, where she taught choreography in her senior year and assisted in stagecraft. She would like to thank her fiancée, Adrian, her vocal coaches, Caroline Williams-Murphy and Joe Plumlee and her friends for encouraging her to return to her passion.

HAILEY THROWER
~ Ensemble ~

Hailey is thrilled to be making her Players by Sea debut in Disaster! She is currently in her final year at UNF, where she is majoring in Digital Video Production. Her most recent performances include Alice by Heart at The 5 & Dime and Rhinoceros at UCF. Hailey grew up acting and singing and is endlessly grateful to her friends, family and the cast and crew for providing her the opportunity to continue.

JESSICA RAMIREZ
~ Ensemble ~

Jessica is elated to have been chosen for her second musical at Players by the Sea. She was previously cast as ensemble in Jekyll and Hyde, her debut theatre performance. Jessica is honored to be working with such a fun and creative group of people; she hopes to make Players by the Sea her second home. Jessica wishes to thank Maxwel and their five awesome kids, for giving up their time with her so that she could come back to the stage for this performance.

Maxwel is honored to be chosen in his debut role as Ensemble for this production of Disaster! Sadie Sims (Ensemble / Marianne, 5/14 - 5/17) is thrilled to return to Players by the Sea in Disaster! She is currently a sophomore at UNF. Recently, she has played Sister Mary Robert (Sister Act) with PBTS, Alice Spencer (Alice by Heart), Ocean Rosenberg (Ride the Cyclone) at The 5 & Dime and Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd) at Greenlight Theatre. She would like to thank her incredible circle of close friends, her parents and the cast/crew for being unbelievably supportive and fun!

~ Shirley ~

Catie is from St. Petersburg, FL a SCAD BFA graduate, and is excited to rejoin Players by the Sea, especially under Jocelyn’s direction. Her first time on stage in Jacksonville was at Players in the ensemble of American Idiot back in 2017, also directed by Geronimo. Most recently, she appeared as Emma in The 5 & Dime Theatre’s Lizzie. Catie appreciates the chance to perform and wants to give a big thank you to everyone supporting theatre. She encourages you to keep enjoying the arts, VOTE, fight for equality and get involved in what you love.

DAVID SACKS
~ Maury ~

David is a performer, director and writer whose recent credits at PBTS include A Behanding in Spokane, Memphis, City of Angels, The Addams Family, Funny Girl and Urinetown: The Musical at The 5 & Dime. On the production side, he directed The White Chip and served as assistant director for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. As a writer, his produced works include Accidental Felon (2005), Green Room, the Musical (2008), and The Opposite of Normal (2022), all staged at PBTS.
