First pictures and wear of my new Duradero Gallatin boots.
These came to me as a result of being named a winner in Rose Anvil's million subscribe giveaway. I had a choice between a couple of different lines and chose these, mostly because I wanted the lug sole. I'm thinking these will work just fine for early season hunting before it gets too cold.
They seem remarkably similar to Thorogood boots, but a little lighter, probably due to a bit thinner leather, and lighter sole construction.
Overall they appear to be a pretty decent pair of boots for the price they charge, especially with the free re-sole included.

A tale of two boots.
I've had my eye on Numzaan boots ever since they were introduced. I hadn't pulled the trigger because I wasn't sure I loved the style. More on those in a minute....
When talk of the 719's began, I decided to give them a try. The more "traditional" style had me convinced. I chose the veg re-tan in my sneaker size and the fit was perfect. Break-in has been relatively easy, and I really enjoy the boots.
Within a couple of weeks, several models of Numzaan appeared on the sale page, and that Houston Green that I've always thought looked intriguing, was available for a great price! I ordered as quickly as I could.
The fit was identical to the 719's. Finish was a bit better. The biggest differences between the two boots, besides the leather, is the tongue, toe cap cut, and eyelet construction and style.
I found the tongue and gusset, (and lace-up) on the Numzaan to be not as pleasant to deal with. It's just a little fussy to get right. The built-in kiltie gave me no trouble in break-in. The tongue does tend to wander around a bit at the top because it's not a full gusset. The 719 style just seems so much easier to live with.
I really enjoy both of these boots. The leather is so different on each. The Houston Green is so support and soft. The veg re-tan is a bit stiff, but so tough, and it does shine up nicely.
Both pair have the frog grip soles. Both are winners for me.
