Havner’s is so honored and excited to announce the opening of Aviary: a show by Patrick J. Kehoss on November 14 from 4-6PM.
“Patrick James Kehoss, a native and long-time resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, presently resides in Jackson, Tennessee. He learned to draw and paint in classes at the Milwaukee Art Museum and was a member and one-time president of the Milwaukee Sketch Club.
His interest in birds began as an infant when his parents would place him in front of a canary cage to keep him quiet. As a youngster, he maintained pairs of love birds and finches in cages throughout his house. He even built a portable aviary with the small birds housed on one side and the larger birds on the other.
Although pencil drawings are his preferred mode of expression, he is also accomplished with pastels and oils.
Patrick stated, ‘When I draw, I like to feel that my birds are happy, playing little games, always active and in motion, with their mouths open, singing and speaking to one another’.”
The gallery will house Patrick’s work throughout the decades, ranging from pastels to pencil drawings from his early life to now. Please join us for opening night!
