🔥 MEET SPIKE 🔥 Ryan Mason, AKA Spike, is a theatre actor from Sacramento. He started acting two years ago in the production of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe with Freefall Stage. In 2025 he was a part of the One Act Festival at Big Idea Theatre, and played Lucky in Waiting for Godot at The Stage at Burke Junction. He also portrayed Kenneth in The Night Alive at The Ooley Theatre, and Peck in The Rimers of Eldritch with Resurrection Theatre. In May he played Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream with Falcon Eye Theatre. He is beyond excited about working with Susan McCandless and this wonderful group of actors.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Tue, Wed & Thu June 16, 17 & 18 starting at 9:30AM

We’re in need of volunteers to help with the final push to get the set ready and cleaned up for opening night of PICKLEBALL.

We’ll be working on:
Putting up a chain link fence
Putting things away
Moving items behind the light booth
Setting up a few masking flats
And few final touches around the venue

We appreciate you lending a hand wherever you can!

😋 MEET SHELDON 😋 Pickleball marks Earl Victorine’s 14th show with the great Main Street Theatre Works! His last MSTW appearance was The Affections of May (Hank Beavis). Earl was last seen in Resurrection Theatre’s Clinically Un-Depressed. Some MSTW favorites include: The Outsider (Ned Newly) Doublewide, TX. (Lomax), Escanaba in da Moonlight, (Rueban Soady, twice!), Leading Ladies (Owen) and A Flea in Her Ear (Poche/ Chandabeis). Other past favorites include: The House of Blue Leaves with TACC; Art, and Fuddy Meers with Big Idea Theatre; The Three Sisters, and Mr. Burns: A Post Electric Play with City Theatre; and Eurydice, and Book of Days with River Stage.

😎 MEET LARRY 😎 Cameron Rose is a theatre lover and is utterly delighted to be on the stage for this production of PICKLEBALL. Cameron has worked with Big Idea Theatre on and off since 2014, where they are currently a company member.

Cameron was last seen as Sam in Big Idea's production of The Flick. Cameron has also worked off stage, having recently co-directed Big Idea's production of The Grown-Ups in 2025. Cameron would love to thank the bright love of their delightful wife Sandi!

CALLING ALL PAINTERS!

Due to some fairly severe storm damage to our stage, we are under the gun to get the set finished for our opening of Pickleball on June 19.

This is an urgent call for painters. This is a very basic set, with straight lines, solid colors! It's a pickleball court and walls. Basic roller work. We will need any and all help Thursday the 11th, Friday the !2th, and Saturday the 13th. The person coordinating this effort is our intrepid director, Susan McCandless. Please call her or text her at (209) 304-2589. She will let you know what time she needs help and if it ends up taking 2 days instead of 3, she can let you know it is all done.

Comps for the show, and lunches will be provided. It's a great show. Come be a part of it.

🎭 MEET BILLIE 🎭 Jody Klemens has performed and directed in and around the Sacramento area for over 35 years. Her favorite roles include Grace, Birmingham Blues, Marlafaye, The Savannah Sipping Society, and Loshie, Lost in Little Rock.

This is Jody’s second time performing at MTSW, and was seen last season performing as Judith Fontaine in Artifice. Her directing credits include Noises Off and Lend Me A Tenor at Imagination Theater, The Phantom Tollbooth at Chautauqua Playhouse, and The Murder Room, Placer Community Theater. Theater has been part of her life since she could walk and talk - Theater is life!

✨ MEET PERFECT ✨ Margarita Perez is thrilled to be returning to Main Street Theatre Works in the role of “Perfect.” As an uptight, but skillful Pickleball player and instructor – Perfect is….well…Perfect, and she plays to win! Margarita is looking forward to working with the team to bring a wacky comedy about the latest craze to life.

Margarita’s acting experience includes film, theatre, and commercials. Her professional background includes a stint in which she hosted a weekly segment on L.A’s Most Wanted on KTTV. She is the former Chairwoman of the California Parole Board, and has served in two branches of the military reserve (Air Force and Army). She is married and the proud owner of a rescue named Pumpkin.

From the creative and wacky mind of actor and playwright Jeff Daniels, who also wrote the smash hit Escanaba in ‘da Moonlight, comes PICKLEBALL.

Daniels was inspired to write the play after talking to, and mocking,
his wife who became obsessed with the game during Covid.

The play focuses on four below-average players who have an opportunity to compete in a local tournament, but first must learn to overcome their limitations and find greatness, in a game where there are no apologies and no excuses.

It’s a satirical look at the fastest-growing sport in America, a game that has nothing to do with pickles.
