While "Wonder of the World" is filled with laughs, Ewing said the comedy has a serious theme at its center: the search for meaning, purpose and clarity...
The characters are imperfect people searching for answers to some of life's biggest questions, Ewing said, and their flaws - including love, lust, impulsiveness, selfishness and avoidance - make their journey recognizable.

The play ultimately asks what lengths people will go to in search of meaning, while presenting those questions through humor rather than an unrelentingly serious drama.

Anchor hopes audiences leave with a good laugh and a renewed appreciation for the unexpected friendships that can develop along the way.

"There's so much seriousness going on in the world right now, Anchor said. "Sometimes we just need a good laugh." She also sees this play as a story about friendship and human connection... "I think that's kind of what we want to feel, Anchor said. "We want to feel like there's people out there that we can connect to and that can, you know, that we can share a laugh with."

"Wonder of the World" continues through Sept. 5 at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre, 1127 N. Main St. in Jackson.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with gates opening at 6:30 p.m.

Thank you to Jeff and Barbara Cameron!

They may not be acting on stage, but they have studied the lines just as much as the actors, rehearsed their blocking and cues, and memorized which set pieces and props to strike, which to bring on, and exactly when to do it.

A show would not be what it is without people like them prepping props and set pieces backstage, helping the cast with wardrobe, and magically transporting us to another location in record time when the lights go down. They make a show feel seamless so that we, the audience, can sit back and enjoy the work being brought to life on stage.

So, thank you to Jeff and Barbara, and to all the wonderful stage managers, stagehands, and crew throughout the theatre world! We could not do it without you. 💐💕

What a fantastic weekend of theatre! The weather was perfect, the audiences were fantastic, and the actors were on fire! Three more weekends left of "Wonder of the World" at the beautiful Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre.
