Displaying a wide array of influences including funk, rhythm & blues, hard rock, classic soul, modern gospel, new tech, fusion and jazz, Snarky Puppy isn’t exactly a jazz band, it’s not a fusion band and it’s definitely not a jam band. It’s probably best to take Nate Chinen of the New York Times’ advice, as stated in an online discussion about the group, to “take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.”

Featuring a blend of acoustic instruments, rural soundscapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are a critically acclaimed indie-folk group led by Tony Dekker. Based in Southern Ontario, the group emerged in the early 2000s with a succession of heavily atmospheric albums recorded in old silos and rural country churches. The music developed in that pastoral warmth, performed and recorded in acoustically resonant and historical locales with a revolving cast of personnel. They are renowned for homespun folk and lush, intimate Americana in their live shows.

Ward Davis is an acclaimed Americana musician and songwriter known for his soulful voice,poignant storytelling, and deeply authentic songwriting. Hailing from Monticello, Arkansas, Davis combines traditional country roots with a modern edge, creating music that resonates with both honky-tonk purists and contemporary audiences. After moving to Nashville, he gained recognition as a talented songwriter, penning tracks for country icons like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Trace Adkins. His solo career took off with the release of his debut album,15 Years in a 10-Year Town(2015), which featured heartfelt songs that explore themes of love, loss, and redemption. The lineup, featuring Dan Horne and Austin McCutchen alongside keyboardist Adam MacDougall, guitarist John Lee Shannon and vocalist Mikaela Davis, woke the Grateful Dead cosmos with a unique laid-back harmony driven sound. The band literally went from playing the Shakedown Street vendor area prior to Dead and Company shows to touring the United States. Grateful Shred manage to channel that elusive Dead vibe uniquely, with wide-open guitar tones, effortless three-part vocal harmonies, choogling beats, and yes, plenty of tripped out, Shredded solos. The look, the sound, the atmosphere is uncanny.
